This restaurant is a staple visit for each time I am in Melbourne to see family. The decor is pretty much the original decor, and I love it for that. Bottomless turkish bread, delicious moussaka, and small plate roulette is how we do it. (Pick five random small plate items off the menu and give them a go, this is... More

We went to this restaurant last night. We had an early (6pm) booking and therefore had immediate service. The bread and dips came out reasonably quickly. We also had an offer of more bread which was great. It was all downhill from there. The 4 adults shared a banquet which was average and the kids had calamari and chips which... More

Wow! If you love turkish food, this is one of the original turkish restaurants in MElbourne. It may not look like much from the outside, but again appearances are decieving. IT won't cost you and arm and a leg, and even though parking is tricky (best to take a Tram here) Take the tram up Sydney Rioad.

Casual dining , middle eastern, Turkish food is at play in this long established restaurant. On this occasion we were disappointed both with the quality and quantity of the meals and the fact that we needed to remind the waitress twice that a main meal had failed to arrive. It did eventually surface whilst the rest of the party were... More

You don't go here for the decor and the place has no pretentions. The dips were a bit sour (we had avocado, capsicum/cheese and a raita-like one), the bread was warm, but a bit bland. My main vegetarian dish could have been great, but became a sloppy/mushy mixed glob due to what must have been intended as a ratatouille at... More

Call into Alasya for a midnight snack - great kebabs and falafel all freshly made and served quickly. Also took home a box of their beautiful turkish delight.

We went here for dinner, we ordered the meat banquet. Service and food was very average. The best thing was the takeaway desserts. I wouldn't go back.

We went with friends who have eaten here many times, we were warned about the bad service and shocking decor. It was true but the food made it worth the experience. Five of us walked in on a Saturday night without a booking, no problem! My friends ordered for us, every item was sensational, the dips, fried cheese, salads and hot... More

Alasya Turkish Restaurant has provided consistently for many years. The serves are generous and the food is consistent and reliable. On this latest visit the menus had been re-printed and I feared change was upon us - but relief, the menu has been kept intact and the food was as reliable as ever.
