Very nice location, but unfortunately that is the best of this place can offer. I love Balaton.... and the Hungarian hospitality but I will never return this place. Not worth the money. Very bad service.. average wine and food. AND VERY BAD SERVICE!! If you...don’t want to work in hospitality just changed and let others work, who want and care about customers! Nagyon szép hely, de sajnos ez a legjobb ezen a helyen. Szeretem a Balatont ... More

The fried catfish was very oily, and it was served with also fried sweet potato. I thought I will eat some healthy but my stomach was crying after consuming so much fat. 3 stars only because the duck soup was excellent. Wines are reasonable nothing...special though, cofee was perfect.More

Fantastic food, delicious wine and outstanding service in a peaceful location. After some major restaurant disappointments around Tihany our visit to Soptei was a delight. The food was excellent, a mix of traditional Hungarian with some fusion elements. local ingredients which were beautifully cooked. Service...was outstanding and we indulged in wine pairings with each course. We came away well fed and contented!More

Nice view, but poor value for money. We visited with friends, ordered their premium priced apetizers , which were expensive, but small portions and average quality. For main course we ordered several dishes, prices are also in the premium range at 3,500-4,500 each, for this...price you would expect a delicious meal and a generous portion. Some of us had their dear burger called XL, the waiter said that it was really big and tasty. When it got served, we again got disappointed, the burger was small, actiually the smallest one we’ve seen. The side dish served was almost non existant. When we gently mentioned this to the waiter, we got a rather dry response saying that this is it and if we find the portion not enough, we can buy something else with or after our burger. We ended up ordering more side dish, but it took them about 20 minutes to serve those, just when we finished the burgers. Really disappointing experience, low value for moneyMore

We had such a lovely time here that our friends went back the next evening! The food was excellent and yet priced reasonably. The service is fantastic. And the view is simply great.

Nice service, at the end the chef came out and we had a good chat with him. He offered one of his specialty wines (on the house) that was not even on the menu... Very good food overall. Nice wines too... High quality, but not...necessarily outstanding... A bit remote location, but when you can be outside, the view from the terrasse makes it up for you. Unfortunately, it was cold when we were there, so sat inside which is a bit lower atmosphere, but not bad. A little bit highly priced for what it is...More

After a whole day of cycling in the heat around Balaton we decided it was time for a good dinner. Soptei Pinceszet & Etterem was everything we expected and more. The staff was very professional and knowledgeable and did not care we wore our sport...gear, so no dress code restrictions. Despite that we got a gourmet meal, a great service in very good English and one of the best dining experiences in Hungary. We probably spent there about 4 hours sampling the amazing menu and enjoying the local wine. If I go back to Balaton I will infidelity visit again!!More

Our personal favourite is Söprtei restaurant ,the best in Balaton region. The meals are superior:high quality, fantastic favours and beautiful serving.Must try is the duck liver pate. Venison burgers and fish in crustata are great choices for main dish. Desserts are typical hungarian desserts with a twist....Their wines are superb too, have to try their BalatonBor and Pino Blanc. The restaurant has beautiful view on lake Balaton, worth the visit,it is a culinary masterpiece.More
