Great food and wine. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Perfect view over beautiful vineyards above Balaton lake. Highly recommended!

This place has it all: wonderful atmosphere, good food, friendly staff. Arguably the best part is the view. You're on the hillside among the vineyards. The food is really outstanding and staff know their wine, which makes for an enjoyable experience.

I was hoping to have a lovely lunch on a beautiful summer day. We hoped to get great service and food. Instead... we got an expensive and unpleasant experience. I emailed to book a table, which they missed but it wasn't an issue, I called...them an hour before our requested time and the Petranyi staff was very friendly and professional via the phone and told me that despite them being full, they can squeeze us in. Once we arrived, only half of the restaurant was busy... didn't understand what the fuss was about during the phone call where they even needed to call me back to confirm that they can find us a table. They sat us down at a less desirable side of the restaurant, we asked them in my email, over the phone and in-person that if a table freed up on the terrace with the view that we came to enjoy, we hope switch tables. Eventually, a table opened up exactly at the centre of the terrace where he hoped to sit when we asked if we can switch, we were asked to sit somewhere else which we accepted. During our meal, the service was at the level of being provided with a meal, no hosting, nobody asked if we enjoyed our meal, if they can help us with anything else. Absolutely nothing. This is fine in a typical simple place but one puts effort driving to this restaurant to enjoy a great experience. This was poor, to say the least. The greatest point was when a couple came in, the man loudly said "I have a piece of good news and a piece of bad news, the good news is we are here and the bad is that we do not have any reservation" The waiter seated the couple right away to the exact table that we were said to be reserved 5 mins earlier. Disheartening - the entire experience was unpleasant but this incident sealed it, we wish to never ever go back.More
