We stumbled across this on a hot day when we had to get off the A9 for some respite. The tea garden was perfect for the dog with a great little stream for cooling him down. The cakes and the tea were really excellent. This is definitely now my new stop-off on the A9. Superb.

I choose this because of the TA reviews as a good half way stopping point on the A9 from Edinburgh to Inverness and it was perfect. There was a group in the main room and several people in the garden, but I got served quickly. There is a working windmill to see and home made flour to buy. You could... More

Homemade light lunches, teas and snacks at their best. There’s some seating inside and lots more in the garden. You can also visit the milling floor of the watermill mill for free.

We enjoyed some vegetable soup for lunch backed up with some fresh coffee and carrot cake. Two happy customers - we went back a couple of days later for more. sadly the mill was not working due to a shortage of water - in Scotland.....

We popped in here on the first morning of our stay here for breakfast. Delicious food and the bread is fantastic. Of course we couldn't walk away without any. Especially the scone us a must have. The best one I've ever had. Made of whole meal flour, nice and moist. Our car will be packed with lovely bread and bagels... More

A working watermill has been on the site since 1590s. We mill our own flour and oatmeal which we then use in our bakery attached to the mill. We serve breakfast, light lunches and cakes and our aim is to provide simple wholesome food with our baking and locally sourced food. We bake fresh everyday and have a range of bread, bagels, croissants, cakes and lots more available to enjoy in the tearoom or takeaway.
