Slow service on not a busy night, food ok though meal had to be sent back as order was wrong. Staff cheery and friendly though which is probably the saving grace. Expected more so disappointed.

My sister recommended this Bistro as she had visited it with work colleagues, we decided to turn up as a family and try the early evening menu which is very reasonably priced. once we arrived we were impressed by the décor and the layout, service was quick and friendly, the place was not full as it was a Tuesday evening.... My family and I visited the Whinstone Bistro on Saturday evening for a special occasion and enjoyed a great meal in a fabulous atmosphere. The restaurant was really busy, however the service was excellent - all the staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. We ordered a variety of main meals and desserts, and without... More

We went back on our own and we were very disappointed. I had the fishcakes to start and my hubbie had pate. My fishcakes were tiny but ok. The pate was ok but the bread that it was served with was soft. The Sunday lunch was not good. I had beef, hubbie had lamb. Meat and Yorksire puddings were ok.... More

Interesting venue with plenty of seating inside and out. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to sit out when we visited but it would have been very pleasant to do so on a fine day. The menu was also interesting rather than run-of-the-mill, and everyone with me enjoyed the food. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful.

Decided to try for Sunday lunch as have eaten here before and always good. We weren't disappointed The restaurant had a nice relaxed feel about it Staff were lovely and helpful if not a little too efficient in trying to clear away but all in we had good service throughout. Starters were good sardines were cooked and served to perfection... More

Positives. Staff were delightful. Ambiance lovely. Great menu choices. "Relatively" reasonably priced for lunch. Sandwiches come with soup or chips as part of price which was nice. Negatives Food was average when it came - my sandwich was over cooked and hard in places. Chips under cooked Onion rings swimming in fat. Yeugh! Soft drinks just shy of £3 each... More

The food was lovely, and very well presented, lovely setting. Only one little gripe, they have stopped doing the savoury afternoon tea, which sounded lovely and more to our taste. Please bring it back

It's been 2 years since we were last at Whinstone View so made the trip over with the family for lunch. It's in a lovely location and has lovely outdoor space and eclectic interior space. Sun was shining so we sat outside until we were harassed by wasps. I have absolutely no idea why wasp traps aren't set up near... More
