We were coming back from a trip and we decided to eat dinner here. The result was that I had the worst experience of my trip and ended it on a very sour note. There are not many places in Montgenevre and I did the...mistake to go in a place without knowing local food and without searching a good place with good reviews. Despite that everything on the menu was overly expensive. I wanted to take something typical, so I looked at the specialities items. I have to point out that it's pitiful to have 9 items there and only half is available to one person just cause you have to share them in two: maybe two items would have been fine or stuff like Raclette but other stuff had no reason to be unavailable for the single customer. So with half of my choices halved, I was also pretty indecisive so I asked the waiter to explain me what Baite Chaude was. He completely mislead my expectations. The dish presented to me was not as nice and luxurious as he described it. There were four boiled potatoes and a small portion of a melted goat cheese. The price for such disappointment was 20 euros which can buy something like a starter and a fabolous first course at a decent restaurant in my home city. Most of the stuff was cold and just taken out of the fridge, unacceptable for a place with such a high price. The side dishes were disorganized and there where too many fried potatoes and useless sad big leaves of lettuce sold as salad on the menu. Lots of stuff on the dish was visual clutter. No substance for an hefty price. To this I must add that the bathroom was too small and had no room to swing a cat, with the sink in such a place that it was impossible to sit on the WC without pressing my shoulder. The only positive note were the burgers which I tried from my friends. They were decent but they were nothing to really save this place. Don't go here unless you wanna make your time in Montgenevre as sour as their regrettable dipping sauce for potatoes.More

Food was fine - not great, but passable if you’re stuck and all the nice places are full. Waiter spilled a full large beer over one of our jackets. Accident - he apologised - no big deal! When paying I politely suggested to the manager...the bill just be reduced slightly to make up for the jacket being covered in beer He tried to say it was my fault and made the whole thing into a unnecessary drama before eventually agreeing not to charge for 2 beers and then was very rude and aggressive towards us as we left No need for this behaviour!!!More

Great place for apres ski. Family friendly with a good selection of drinks. There is a really nice outside area that provides some great views if the weather is being kind.

Menu is mainly Burger based ..... but the burger quality is excellent, if a little pricey, as is the beer! Live music on Wednesdays was vey good and all the live football was most welcome ! Service was mixed - one waiter was very rude...whilst the other staff were excellent and accommodating.More

Just spent a week in Montgenèvre and had lunch and après ski most days at Le Graal. Despite it being the busiest week of the season...sometimes crazy busy...the staff kept their collective cool and the drinks and food coming..! Decent pint of Guinness, great burgers,...an excellent goat's cheese salad and good steaks. The Irish coffees were excellent too! Prices reasonable, service quick enough given the pressure and usually quick to pay so we could get back on the mountain! Great entertainment with the band 2 Fat Men, (Monday and Weds 6pm) and good DJ set outside on the terrace one evening. Merci à toute l'équipe, au plaisir de vous revoir la prochaine fois!More

Montgenevre, in my opinion, is seriously lacking in terms of apres ski. In all honesty, this may be more to do with it being a more family oriented resort. Le Graal when Googled comes up as the top spot for Apres Ski in Montgenevre, and...when you compare to anywhere else in the village, yes it is! However, when I ignore the fact that I was looking for atmospheric apres ski, this place is actually very good. It is one of the only places you can’t book/reserve tables in Monty (major plus point if you don’t want a regimented timetable for your hols). It’s location is ideal just opposite the slopes in the village, has a great outdoor space with heaters for when it’s colder and plenty of room inside. Food is great...burgers, bruschetta, crepes, fab chips and plenty of choice for drinks. There is a great band there on “fat man” (or a similar title) at least twice a week (def on a Monday) from 6-8pm.More

Great for lunch but make sure you book if you’re in peak weeks. The burgers are fantastic. Biggest downside is that there’s only one men’s and one women’s toilet so chances are you’ll spend as much time waiting for the toilet as your food.

We came here for lunch with our 2 small kids. We ordered 2 meals to share, knowing the portions were large. The waitress told us we weren’t allowed to do that and had to order a meal each. So we ended up buying an extra...bowl of chips which we hardly touched. Shame because the food was nice but because of this ‘rule’, we decided not to have coffees or desserts and definitely no tip. Treating us that way took the shine of what would have been a nice lunch. The same cafe was happy to accept our very small order just a few days earlier, though. Changeover day perhaps so less selective? We will spend our money elsewhere for the rest of our holiday, thanks!More

Visited several times. Staff outside were good but some got a bit confused over payment making us feel unwelcome. Music nights good but obviously busy. Good vin chaud though.

Le Graal is the place to go in Montgenevre for good food and drink. It has the best Apres Ski with Live music 3 nights a week.

Advertised as Restaurant and Cafe, we entered at that place at 2pm, for a snack. When we ordered a salad, 2 beers and 2 hot chocolates we 'instructed' (!) that we should order something more... However, the waiter wanted to ask the manager or whoever...that lady was who later came to us shouting and telling us to leave her place because that order was unacceptable! They were claiming that it was lunch time so we couldn't occupy one table ordering just a salad. To add that there were more than 3 big tables available and nobody was waiting to be allocated. After the lady came to us shouting we decided to leave but before going out I went to the lady at the balcony of the bar and I just told her that this was not the way to do business, that we were actually ordering something and she started pointing the finger on my chest (pushing) by insulting in both French and Italian and finally raised her middle finger!! At that point we left thinking to declare this incident to the police but at the end we decided to don't bother and we just went to another place. Staff's behavior was completely unacceptable and we don't recommend this place for any reason.More

Le Graal is a brasserie situated in the main street of Montgenèvre. The restaurant has a large outdoor area and serves French dishes. We chose mixed grill which consisted of chicken and pork meat, sausages and chips accompanied by cooked vegetables and salad. Food was...good and wine by glass very tasty. For dessert, we chose îles flottantes which were delicious. Service was quick and efficient, and price in the normal range.More
