I have used them for catering a work function and the food was excellent. The staff friendly and efficient. I have also visited the restaurant itself and it is a must see especially if you are a cat lover.

Even though Readers was not open for breakfast that morning, the kitchen prepared us a meal out of this world. The food was amazing served with a friendly smile. The old charm of the farm house with its original wood floors and antique furniture felt warm and welcoming. The cracking of the floor boards and the visit of the resident... More

We enjoyed both Breakfast and Lunch at this quaint Cat themed restaurant which is situated in an old historical building. Both breakfast and lunch were excellent, as was the service and hospitality. Please don't forget to try the home made trio of secret flavored ice cream which will not only blow your tastebuds but your mind as well.

Really friendly service and very tasty, interesting dishes combine for a great experience. The owner was amazing and made us feel extremely welcome. She went much further than what was necessary to ensure we enjoyed our evening to the fullest!

We had dinner in this quaint little restaurant when visiting Tulbagh. The owner of the restaurant is very involved, from greeting us at the door, to taking our order and cooking the food, she was very hands on. Her staff were excellent as well. The food was certainly very good - nothing too fancy, but tasty. The restaurant is fairly... More

We were staying in Tulbagh for the Christmas in Winter Festival 25-26 June and we had booked a special Christmas Dinner at Readers. It was an excellent meal and hot and very good value at R 300 each. They had a good choice of wines which were reasonably priced. All in all a wonderful evening !!!

Description
The oldest house in Church Street , Tulbagh – Readers.
Offering simple, outstanding local and global cuisine, has been able to maintain a standard of excellence that has created a notable reputation with both locals and tourists.
The cuisine varies on a daily basis depending on the availability of fresh produce. This provides Carol Collins – Silwood trained Cordon Bleu Chef -a certain challenge in ensuring the creation of dishes using imagination, flair and superb presentation. Certain dishes have become trademarks at Readers but the focus remains on variety, fusion of flavours and combination of unusual ingredients.
