We had a very tasty 4 course menu with win included for a very low price (14€). Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area. The only complain is that the waiter only spoke Catalan, not even Spanish...
Our guide recommended the restaurant and we had the best meal during our visit to Barcelona. The 4 course menu cost 12.5 € and every course was amazing and we left the plates clean every time. I’d love to stay nearby and enjoy eating in...Can xel everyday. The service is super quick and the waiters are super friendly.More
Great restaurant to taste the local cuisine of La Garrotxa, Catalonia. Some of the dishes wr enjoyed wete the "patates de Olot" and the lamb chops. The dessert menu was also excellent.
Staff was friendly and the price was low for the quality
We came here with a Meetup group we'd been hiking with. There were 26 of us, and did not feel crowded at all. As a matter of fact, if we'd been the only ones there, the place would have seemed empty. Their upstairs dining area...can seat roughly 200 at a time. ...and they were prepared with ample staff. We never had to wait to be served, or to have dishes cleared away between courses. They even kept coming back wanting to refill your plate as often, and with as much, as you cared to eat. Even the wine and water kept coming!
That said, this was a "Menu al Día," where all three courses (and dessert) were included. It was supposed to be €16,00 per person, but with all of the extra wine and the coffees (which were not included), they only bumped it up to €17,50 each.
The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was very pleasant. This place is a gem!More
This is really an area of small villages, all with one or two notable hotel/restaurants for the gastronomes and a lot to offer the naturalists. Can Xel no exception, with a mountain backdrop and two decent swimming pools, when open. Dishes in the regional Catalan...style, served in quite a busy and noisy setting. Waiting staff were a bit pushed and disorganized but food served hot and promptly.More
We stopped here after a hike through the Garrotxa national park and found the place packed on a late Sunday afternoon. The food was really good, quite traditional and the service could not have been better. (Especially considering how busy the place was and our...waitresses English matched our Spanish - none!)
Anyway, we are big fans of trying new things and everything we got off the menu was good - from seafood dishes to salads to pork dishes. Wash your meal down with a local wine or beer and you have a great way to spend an afternoon.
Ps - portions were American size.More
The food has been good. Typical dishes and good service. They should divide which waiter has to serve each table to avoid confusion between themselves and to avoid the waiting time for the customer to have back the bill.
Sorry guys, the service was kind and kind of good, but the food was terrible. A bouillon is made with vegetables, not cubes. A salad is made with fresh produce, not canned vegetables. And the fessol were the worst I had in the region. Please...cut down on menu options and produce something fresh. Unless you want to be a tourist trap... I know, busses tend to stop there frequently...More
We went here on a Sunday for lunch. They have a really complete menu for €23 (weekends) which includes appetizer, first, second, dessert, drink, and coffee/tea. The food was good in general, only of the second dish the potatoes were a bit cold and some...not completely done.
The dining room is quite big, not really especially decorated, with view on the swimming pool. The service is good and quite quick.More
