Fun place to eat

The atmosphere was great as was the food. Really enjoyed brunch, and the food was cheap and appetizing as compared to other restaurants in the area. My party was treated with respect, and the staff maintained a joyful attitude even though the restaurant was busy - they somehow managed to stay connected with all their customers. Great place to eat!

varied manu, plenty of choice, good flavours

The restaurant was an easy walk from our hotel (the distances quoted for many of these restaurants are optimistic), on the main road towards Kamari and Kefalos. The setting is far from romantic, however, facing as it does out on to the main road, and obscured from the sea. The restaurant was clean and well appointed, and the staff were pleasant and attentive. It has a large and varied menu, from which we chose stuffed vine leaves and a local sausage in a rich tomato sauce, followed by octopus and white snapper. The vine leaves were very nice, carrying a good hint of mint in the mix, and the sausage was very tasty, but could be quite a filler if you then chose a meat dish for mains (e,g, you get 5 lamb chops if you order them). The octopus had been cooked well, and came accompanied by a nice salad , rice and chips (chips with everything here, it seems, and quite heavy on the carbs with rice AND chips - but each to their own). If you are not a fan of balsamic vinegar, ask for it to be left out, as it seems to be the default dressing. The snapper came whole, had been cooked beautifully, and was also accompanied by rice, chips and salad. De-boning it makes this a fiddly, but delicious dish. The complementary honey cake was light and delicious. All this washed down with a beer and a litre carafe of wine came to 63 Euros (June 2022), and we enjoyed it. All in all, a good meal, and we would return. .

Huge!!

Visited twice! Absolutely amazing value, amazing food and amazing pleasant staff. 1st visit.. We ordered Greek salad, Pizza and Wine. Omg we were served a huge starter which was enough for 2 and had we known we would have shared a pizza🍕. The pizza was absolutely delicious but huge! However if you can't eat it all they will box it up for you . Best pizza Ive had in a long time . Then a lovely little surprise gesture was a free pudding with 2 spoons.. cake and ices cream drizzled with honey..perfect there always room for sweet right🤷‍♀️. 2nd Visit . As the same with the first really good quality food served with and smile and bang on ..We went for mains only and chose the American style hamburger certainly recommended 👌.. see picture Reasonable priced both nights including drinks Would definitely recommend a visit.

Frozen wedges and tinned/frozen carrots.....

Had the chicken fillet here and this was the only part of the meal I ate. Unfortunately, the chicken was chewy and I was put off by the frozen wedges and carrots. Needless to say we didn't go there again. If I had to go there I would definitely choose a pasta dish....you can't have frozen pasta.....can you?

Half and half review here. My partner had a prawn dish which she thought was fantastic. However I opted for Fish and Chips, which I assumed would be fresh fish but was actually frozen and not that different from something you could make at home from the supermarket, ultimately disappointing. Nice place though.

I really hate putting a bad review but I hope others will not be disappointed like we did. It took almost 1 hours to get the food and All the food we ordered was not tasty. Lamb chops were dry and not eatable, french fries not cripy but mashed, chicken in the pita bread dry, hamburger very low quality. A true disappointment 🥴

We ate here twice during our stay in kefalos. Both times the staff were lovely and the food was delicious. The portion sizes were very big and we could not finish the meals. Each visit they brought us a pudding to share on the house, it was such a lovely gesture & the sponge and ice cream was really nice. We also went once to get a takeaway pizza as we were staying nearby and they too were really delicious and very filling. The prices for all meals are very reasonable. We would highly recommend the rrestaurant and we hope to return in the future.

Attention to detail

We visited this restaurant whilst on holiday as we had heard good reviews. We entered the restaurant and was seated and given menus. We ordered our food and the starters quickly arrived which tasted amazing. Our mains arrived which again was lovely food but the only thing that let our visit down was the lack of attention to empty drinks but staff would visit your table to see why the food was not eaten and if there was a problem, which is fine but still didn’t pick up that some of our guests had empty glasses. I know for some this may not bother them but where other restaurants are attentive to customers need we felt this lacked, something trivial to many but it does make a big difference. Can’t fault the food at all just some extra attention to detail could be addressed. If you are after a pizza then you can’t fault this place as everyone enjoyed their food.

Wedding Anniversary meal

We visited Hippocrates for our 36th Wedding Anniversary meal and we had a brilliant evening. We were welcomed immediatley and chose a table. After looking over the menu, A wonderful girl called Nicky came to our table and took our order. She was warm, welcoming and added to the evening with her charm. For our starters I had 'Spetzofai' (Local village Sausage with peppers in a spicy Tomato sauce, my wife had Saganaki. For our mains I had the Pork Souvlaki and my wife had Sweet & Sour Chicken. All the food was outstanding and the portions were more than adaquate. I would like to thank Yianni for the delicious feast. We both decided to share a dessert as an end and to our surprise, Nicky brought us the most wonderful tasting, light sponge cake with Ice-cream and a caramel sauce..... Nicky had made it herself and it was delicious, Thank you Nicky, for your friendly approach and service. The entire evening was a success, made so by the unselfish attention we received from the entire crew. A true diamond of a restaurant that i would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Lovely food. Huuuuuuge portions!! Could only manage half of mine! Staff really friendly. Hubby also got a huge sticky gooey pudding free if charge so was well chuffed

Best restaurant in Kos, by far!

If you’re visiting Kos, this is the spot to eat. Great food, lots of seating, and warm and friendly staff will MAKE your trip. If you’re looking for authentic food and real Greek hospitality, this restraint knocks it out of the park. I will definitely be back, again and again!

New favourite in Kefalos

I'd been to Kefalos twice before I tried Hippocrates Restaurant, and to be honest I just feel let down by myself for missing out on more oppurtunities to eat that heavenly carbonara! This is definitely one of, if not our favourite restaurant in Kefalos now! The portions are huge, we all ended up taking leftovers back to our hotel and snacking on pizza in the middle of the night! Huge variety of foods on offer, loads of different pizzas, pasta dishes, souvlaki... All sorts of international cuisine, and every dish we ordered between the 6 of us was lovely. Really friendly staff and great service too. We will definitely be returning when we visit Kefalos again next month!

Wonderful meal

Had a really nice meal at the restaurant - the welcome was fantastic. The house wine by carafe was so good and the pasta and stifado main courses were rich and flavoursome. Great meal Oh and the honey cake for after was to die for…

Beautiful food in lovely surroundings.

We decided to visit this restaurant to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday while in kefalos. The food was beautiful, the staff were fantastic and were happy to sing 'happy birthday' to my daughter and bring her a dessert with a candle. There's a lovely relaxed and friendly atmosphere and if I'm ever in kefalos again it will be my first stop! Thank you.

Best restaraunt in Kefalos

We found this lovely restaurant the first week of our two week stay in Kefalos, we loved it so much we went virtually every night. Food was excellent and Nikki the waitress was lovely. This place knocked the spots off the other restaurants we tried. Highly recommend Hippocrates.
