Very efficient staff but the roast dinner and the background jazz being played were not as good as when I reviewed it before. Although the roast beef and the other meats were delicious, the potatoes and Yorkshires were not really of a good standard. The musicians, although talented, went off for a few breaks, and the music played was not... More

High end buzzing dining room decorated in beautiful art deco. Not the black for a quiet tete a tete but has a great atmosphere when busy. Interesting menu. Well worth checking out if you haven't tried it yet.

We had a great evening here last night eating in the restaurant. I love the Art Deco era so the styling is to my taste, very Hollywood glamour. It's an al la carte menu that didn't disappoint. I have the seafood lasagne to start. Very unusual, it was great. My fiancé had the mackerel which was particularly tasty! My partner... More

Just love it here at the Gatsby! Service always on the button but not over the top, you may rush to be there on time but then you know you will be well looked after and can relax to enjoy the ambience of this tastefully restored Art Deco jem. Our party all opted for a Sunday roast of beef or... More

I reserved a table for 2 and space for a pram for 5th Feb. We arrived 40 mins early and I thought I'd check if they could seat us early. Luckily they could. The table was perfect. Ample space for our pram. Initially I thought it wasn't the kind of restaurant to bring a 6wk old baby but I was... More

We were a large party of 10 plus 3 children. The staff at The Gatsby couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. They set up a large table for us and ensured we had everything we needed. The food was served in a timely manner. The atmosphere is very pleasant - soft lights and comfortable seats and a pianist playing... More

I received a voucher for the Gatsby for my birthday last year. Staff were most helpful on the phone: We booked a table in the main dining room but because of time limitations we weren't sure whether to go for the a la carte or the bar menu. They said we could stay in the main dining room and make... More

We booked a table here for a special birthday. I must admit that it was pricier than we would normally go for, but it is a case of 'you get what you pay for'! The service was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The food was to die for - I would thoroughly recommend the fillet steak!! And the ambience... More

The wife and I wanted a meal before visiting the Rex so popped in here, wasn't expecting to be seated, it was surprisingly quiet, there folks in the bar area but we had the restaurant to ourselves, we loved it. They took our coats for and seated us in a booth near a piano, the restaurant itself is beautiful and... More

Spend the last Sunday lunchtime of each month at the Gatsby and be treated to good food AND live music. Booking is essential as it almost always sells out, and places are limited. Youre not rushed, but there is a buzz about the place. Food is good, traditional Sunday lunch or al-la-carte.
