Beautiful resort. Our room which was a chalet of sorts was very beautiful . It has mesh instead of windows so we were truly at one with nature. No keys. Very lovely remote place surrounded by dense Forrest. Extremely friendly staff. Well maintained gardens. Lovely...swimming pool. An altogether great experience. The only thing that lets it down is the food, the restaurant is lovely but the food does not live up to expectations. It is ok for a cheaper regular restaurant but not for the type of property and aspirations this place has. It is also overpriced. At just below 32$US for a main dish and just below 12$US for a starter I’d expect better. One gets a choice of about 3 mains. They are all the same price, 32$US . So a lobster thermidor is the same price as pasta with tomato sauce. That makes no sense at all. The portions are small and grilled food is overdone . Wine is about 12$US for a glass of mediocre wine. Otherwise lovely place and the staff truly is fantasticMore

I don’t even know where to begin with how wonderful this hotel and the staff was. Upon arrival we were greeted with the most wonderful welcome, checked into a beautiful room, and given top notch service from start to finish. The accommodations were incredible, with...great rooms that were very clean and spacious. The property itself was beautiful and offered a lot to do, including the pool, horseback riding, hiking, and the butterfly exhibit. The on property restaurant was very good and dinner every night was a highlight. We met the owner who started the lodge in the 70s and it was so clear this was a labor of love for him and his wife. They are so proud of the staff and the property and deserve to be.More

I truly do not even know where to begin with our stay at Chaa Creek. The drive to the property was beautiful and the dirt road was easy to drive on and plenty spacious for other drivers as well. The check-in process was smooth, and...they greeted us with a delicious tea that was perfectly refreshing. We upgraded our room to one of the modern villas they have on property, and I've got to say, the view you got to see from the private plunge pool is going to be living in my dreams for the foreseeable future. Let me get back to check-in. Once we were given our room key, we traded our car keys out and the front desk staff escorted us through the property, pointing out different buildings and areas, and eventually took us to our villa. The villa itself was so gorgeous and modern with huge windows that let in so much beautiful natural light! Truly breath taking. By the time we got to our room, our luggage was inside and ready for us to unpack. The rooms were bright, the beds were comfortable, and the double shower heads in the bathroom were very luxurious! When I booked our stay here, I did reach out to the front desk and let them know we were visiting for my husbands 30th and would like to do a spa day- Chaa Creek had one of their staff babysit our daughter so we could have some spa time together. My daughter absolutely loved Anna and when we came back to our room, they were pretending to catch snakes with a flashlight. It was so sweet. I actually have nothing but wonderful things to say about all the staff at Chaa Creek. Even at Mariposa, we would have breakfast every day. Myra and Alice were always on the ball with getting my daughter yogurt first thing in the morning. Everyone at Chaa Creek has really set the bar high for us and I could truly go on and on and on! The property itself also has tons to offer, with a spa, butterfly exhibit, natural history museum, proximity to the botanic garden as well as several Mayan Archaeological Sites, it's all around an excellent location. We spent 4 wonderful days here and I'm going to be dreaming of when we can come back. I would also like to mention: I forgot a pair of gold earrings at the spa and didn't even realize for another day. The front desk was able to locate the earrings and they were delivered right to my room so I felt I could really trust everyone here. 11/10 you will not regret staying here.More

Top impressions: beautiful setting; amazing gracious staff; good menu choices. We tried breakfasts: eggs, fry jacks, tea, fruit, oatmeal and bacon. Note oatmeal is not a porridge at breakfast but raw oatmeal in warm milk. Bacon is lean and served slightly warm. Eggs hot, fry...jacks hot. Tea water warm. Lunch: tried wings and sweet potato fries; Mediterranean salad. Salads are very sweet- the dressing has a super sugary taste. Grilled eggplant, feta, chicken yummy. Chef does use liberal salt and sugar so caution if you are restricting that. Perfection in food is when I can get plain wine vinegar and oil -as I restrict added sugars. Dinner: fettuccine Alfredo w grilled shrimp; served warm and salty. Strip loin; cooked perfectly but tough and not very warm. Grilled corn was cold to touch and the okra and green beans nearly raw. Other items on set menu at night we were there: imported salmon, cheesecake. Iced tea is fab: drinks are well made. Service is exceptional. In sum the food temp, salt n sugar overuse were the points upon which missed for us. The nature hiking trail w Mayan civilization dig had a big description sign; unreadable due to dirt! Facilities are spotless and gorgeous in every way. Mo AC in cottage and don’t need it as fans were perfect. Jungle birds and monkeys sound off and are entrancing. Be prepared to walk up n down paths in this property- used spa services: excellent- no fake muscle Swedish stuff- it was therapeutic and just what I needed. Pedicure was flawless and comfortable in chair. We can recommend a stay here and this was a return visit. Many activity ideas for youth . Bring binoculars and bug spray, hat and a water cup.More

Great food, skimpy drinks. You must order double liquor to even taste it in the glass. Forget about wine, drink rum!

We stayed at the Lodge at Chaa Creek for 4 nights and ate breakfast and dinner here every day. They offer a wide variety of dishes at breakfast including some local dishes. For dinner the menu is somewhat limited - 1 soup, 1 salad, 4...main courses. We never had a problem finding something we liked, however. Food and service were both very good. Prices were reasonable even though we were a bit of a captive audience. Highly recommended.More

Absolutely one of our top family vacations ever. Our Ix Chel villa with private pool and jacuzzi was incredible. We sat at the pool and watched and heard holler monkeys in the trees right next to us. Candy, our Butler was beyond amazing. Her surprise...set up dinner for my husbands birthday, her pivot to a terrific day on a pontoon boat when cave tubing was canceled are just a couple of the things she did to make our stay memorable. The food was beyond excellent, the staff was incredible and the location and attention to every detail were beyond 5 star. We loved every minute.More

Chaa Creek is truly an incredible place! We have been to Belize twice before, but mainly stayed near the coast. Based on a strong recommendation from a good friend, we decided to try the interior of Belize and stay at Chaa Creek. It is an...exceptionally beautiful location in the heart of Belize, with an incredible staff that took care of our whole family. We did excursions every day including exploring the waterfalls on the Macal River, a guided tour of Xunantunich (Mayan ruins), and cave tubing. The property at Chaa Creek is stunning. The grounds are meticulously maintained, the butterfly center is amazing (kids thoroughly enjoyed it), the pool is perfect, and service was exceptional. The restaurant and food in general were really top notch and they went above and beyond. As an example, one of our girls has an egg allergy. After checking in and informing about the allergy, the chef specifically ordered bread and other items that didn’t include egg to ensure our daughter didn’t have any issues during our stay. She also enjoyed the gluten free cake for her 10th birthday that the staff surprised us with on our last night there. Thank you again for a very memorable experience at Chaa Creek. We will be back and can’t recommend you highly enough!More

One of the best jungle experiences you can get in Belize. Everything and everyone was well worth the time, money and effort to get here. So much to see and do for you and your family. Highly recommend it and will definitely go back!

Everything about our stay at Chaa Creek was superb! The rooms are nicely appointed with unique touches, the landscaping outstanding, and the food literally the best we have had in Belize. We explored the property, toured the butterfly farm, relaxed in the pool, hiked and...checked out the river, and easily filled two days here without even starting to touch on everything offered. If you are considering a stay in the area you can not go wrong with Chaa Creek. We will be back.More

This is an absolutely wonderful resort. Food was excellent, staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful, and the activities were plentiful and inspiring. The cave tubing is a must. The only slight negative is that most of the villas are not air conditioned. Things generally...cooled off and were comfortable by late evening, especially with the ceiling fans.More

We had such a tasty meal in a beautiful setting. A true resort experience while not losing the authenticity of being in a rainforest. It was a little on the pricey side for food (especially the soup which was a very tiny portion for $7USD)...but the quality of ingredients was noticeable. The Mediterranean salad I had was AMAZING and so plentiful that we took half of it home for dinner later!! We also ordered such a unique panini with grilled chicken, Brei cheese and cranberry. It was a refreshing break from beans and rice that we had eaten for 3 meals a day the last few days! The juices were fresh and the cocktails are very reasonable priced, yummy and beautiful enough for Instagram! 😂 While waiting for food, we walked up to the butterfly conservatory for a quick look. So magical!! You could spend a full day here at this resort even if you aren’t staying overnight but honestly, I’d suggest staying overnight because the guest rooms looked private and peaceful!More
