An absolute taste sensation. From mild to spice plus. Attentive friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Although noisy you don't have to shout to be heard at the same table - 400? guests at one sitting. A must for the beginner and the seasoned Thai food eater.

I went for dinner before a movie and had a great time. Attentive service, decent chicken larb and the pad khi mao was brilliant. I also like the quite intense gilded stuff that's everywhere.

Came here 6 years ago & returned for the betel leaf prawn which was divine. Not worth the rest of the experience. Unfortunate as staff did their best with an overwhelmed kitchen who forgot our order.

One of these days someone is going to open a non-Thai restaurant in Newtown and the entire community is going to be outraged. Thai Pothong is a standard example of a Thai takeaway place that you will find at multiple locations within Newtown and greater Sydney. They will provide a perfectly acceptable quality lunch or dinner if you drop in... More

This is everything you want in a restaurant - great decor (which you can BUY!), friendly attentive service and DELICIOUS food! The betel leaf prawns and the banana blossom salad are both fricken amazing but everything is tasty - just don't accidentally order vegetarian meat dishes, fake chicken is pretty gross even here. It's just the menu is so big... More

My husband and I did not have a reservation however we were seated in no more than 15 minutes. The food was definately worth the wait. We ordered yellow curry and stir fry prawns and both were delicious. The restaurant was super full however the service was still fast and the waiters were very attentive. I can certainly see why...
