We were heading for an nice sundowner at the bar. It was not not crowded but the personell was extremely slow and not responsive. Drinks were expensive as in Santorini but here in Amorgos it’s normally unusual.

Fabulous location for a sunset drink & if you are lucky, a chair & table on the pebble beach just in front of the waves. Nice, friendly staff too !
Two fake mohitos, tiny, almost water, tasteless, for 18€. The old lady throwing away a chair 😨. Trying to steal the chance.
After hiking from Egiali over the mountains to the bay of Katapola, I felt like a beer late afternoon in the hamlet of Xilokeratidi, which is especially nice at this time of the day with the setting sun. The 'Moon Bar' with its traditional chairs...and tables by a thick tamarisk tree looked like the right place. Only one other table was occupied. A waitress was cleaning all the tables in slow motion, except for mine, which was full of red wine stains. After 20 minutes she made the effort to approach me. I asked, if they had Mythos Beer. The young waitress disappeared, only to tell me after several minutes, that they don't have Mythos Beer. 'What do you have then?' 'Eza and Alfa'. Ok, then bring me an Alfa'. It came with some nuts and was cold enough.More
Man, this lady Katerina is just SO special. We found the place by chance strolling along the quay after dinner close by and almost felt that something had pulled us in. We don't normally walk into a pub but my wife and I just felt...compelled to have a nightcap. We stayed for ages, came back the next night again and popped in to say goodbye a few days later when we left the island and shared a special Raki and snack with Katerina. Efcharistó. The music was such a great mix of classics we kept checking the laptop to see what was playing. Best was "I'll play the blues for you" by Daniel Castro, but there was some Jimi Hendrix, Leonard Cohen (just so right when in Greece). Katerina does some light food choices and stays open late when the vibe is right. She has been there for around 30 years. What a find.More
On the positives side, it is located next to the dock and the decoration was decent. However, we had a terrible experience there. We arrived at an off-peak hour but we have been ignored for around 20 minutes. When I went inside to ask if...the place is self-service, the lady in the bar asked me to wait for the waitress. 15 minutes later, we were still waiting to order while the stuff were moving around us doing other tasks like cleaning the leaves on the ground and talking to each other. It was very embarrassing, so we decided to leave. It is worth mentioning that after 7 days in the island of Amorgos, this was the very first incident of poor service. Totally not recommended.More
If you want a hipster and awesome bar, then welcome here. Katerina the owner is adorable. The bar is very comfortable, the music makes you feel greater. Don't forget to try the food, ia delicous.
Dont miss out for a drink under the stars and great music - prices are fair and mood is always relaxed
We went to the Moonbar twice after dinner. The view of the harbour was beautiful and it felt truly magical to sit under the tamarisk tree and sip raki. The second night we were treated to our choice of music, Leonard Cohen, which made it...even more special. The interior of the bar has to be seen to be believed, Katerina has clearly got an incredible eye for decor. We loved it and would have kept going back had we stayed there longer.More
