Looking for somewhere on the way back from the coast for a late Sunday Lunch and found this place by searching google maps. Only slightly off the main road, but you would need to know to go a short stretch down a village lane before stumbling upon a lovely old pub with a very nice garden. We chose the medium... More

Spent a very pleasant hour here with a light bar snack, served to us in the garden. The food was very tasty and the ales and cider (locally brewed) were good too. The main house runs as a popular restaurant, especially at weekends when booking is advisable. A handy hostelry with some period charm and a great watering hole before... More

We visited and told the waitress that my wife had a garlic allergy: there went 99% of the menu as the food was already prepared. I asked for the mushroom soup and what I got was garlic soup with mushroom: the only solids in it were the pieces of garlic and while I can eat it, I do actually like... More

5 couples descended on the wonderful old Inn tucked away in a pretty hamlet. Everything about the set lunch was great, but the star of the show was the best chicken and leek pie you will ever be privileged to meet. The Old Yew Tree deserved 5 stars without doubt, It doesn't get them simply because they had no ice... More

This is a truly spectacular old inn which is full of character. It was full of locals giving it a lively atmosphere, including a 60th birthday party, but we did not feel at all awkward. We were quite comfortable. The food was amazing. Freshly prepared, local fresh ingredients and full of flavour. Hosts were keen to ensure that it was... More

Have been here several times as a family and with friends. Always brilliant food and wonderful service. Only reason for four stars is as a vegetarian the options are rather limited. But the food I have had has always been delicious.
