This restaurant is amazing; the food is excellent. The environment of where you are eating is magic and the service is great. There is no better place to eat than this one in Aghia Theodora.

I visited this place for lunch on a day's excursion to visit the Byzantine church of Agia Theodora. This taverna is the second one on the foot path that starts from the church site, and it took a lot less than the 10 minutes we...were told it would take to get there. The path runs along the creek, it is easy to walk on, and the forestland is magnificent. Amidst this enchanting setting lies this taverna, and I loved everything about the ambiance, both outside and inside. Inside, the decoration was decked in wood, very beautiful, with a fireplace as the focal point. Outside, the tables were set on a gravel-covered seating area by the creek, and there was a lot to see walking around after - including a stall with souvenirs and local produce and an old water mill that's still running (various types of flour on offer to take away with you). The menu included many choices, mostly meat-based. We had the roast lamb with potatoes, goat soup, and choriatiko sausage. The prices were surprisingly low. Very good value for money. The only downside was that the place was understaffed, at least that day it was (a Sunday). Just 2 waiters for a great number of tables across a large area. This didn't make it easy to catch someone's attention to ask for the bill. If it helps, we had to go indoors and pay. But it was all very fortunate, as we got to see the interior - as I said, very lovely, and we loved the photos especially - Vasilis Papakonstantinou, the Greek rock singer, has pride of place on the wall, since he comes from that area. I expect the locals must be very proud of his grand career!More
After a visit to the magnificent church next door, the Priest told us to visit this amazing restaurant They have all natural good, grow everything fresh, have a working watermill, sell their products, including flour from the mill Their Greek version of bruschetta is complimentary......We ordered more. I have never tasted anything like it.. They also serve homemade, Greek, oven potatoes. Not many restaurants do these days... As covid19 has kept tourists away, now is a great time to visit if you are on Greece already AMAZING!More
Nicely located by the river inside the forest near Agia Theodora church. Good food, good service, friendly and generous staff. Very reasonable prices.
We went here after visiting the incredible Agia Theodora site. The food was excellent- even as a vegetarian, I had several options. I chose the saganaki and stuffed tomatoes and bell peppers and ate until I felt like a stuffed tomato! Their house wine was...also delicious. The restaurant has a large outdoor patio and is surrounded by trees covered in vines, giving it a cosy "Secret Garden" vibe; there's also a rippling brook alongside the patio, which offers a lovely soundscape. Would come back in a heartbeat!More
We were surprised to find such a good and hospitable Taverna in such a remote region especially as the Aghia Theodora church at Vastas was clearly a big tourist destination.
We had a wonderful dinner at Neromylos when we visited Agia Theodora Mono Kolokotroni & ancient theatre of Megalopolis on November 11,2018.We were informed that the owner was very helpful and the food rich and excellent. The service was perfect. The plates very delicious and in great...variety.The neromylos and another shop nearby gave us the opportunity to eat and take with us farine as well as food. The desert special and the site marvellous. Our group 43 persons was delighted to have such a great dinner. Congratulations!More
We had lunch here and found the food to be very tasty, the gemista vegetables were the best we had in Greece, the rice was not glugy, but beautifully flavored. We also had the wood fired lamb which was also delicious. The surroundings were very...relaxing, made for a beautiful lunchMore
A nice restaurant just a few minutes walk from Agia Theodora church. Prices were very reasonable when we were there & the food/ service were top notch.
With the opportunity of visiting the famous chapel of Agia (Saint) Theodora, which is 1000years old with the miracle of 17 big trees planted on the roof, with their roots hidden(!!!), we decided to exploit the area, since it is of spectacular beauty and nature...with maple trees, by the river. We found there a complex which is developed around an old watermill (150 years old!), which is still operating(!!) and you can even buy whole flour from it! The complex is builted in harmony with the surrounding landscape respecting the virgin nature and it includes an traditional Greek tavern. It was a surprise for us to find really fresh and quality food in such an isolated place. Also the prices were at least friendly, not to mention that we got more than full by the quantities... We recommend this excursion only 2.5 hours away from Athens. Taste the local speciality "Kagianas", and a choice from lamb, chicken or wild bore with potatos, baked in the traditional oven with woods!More
