Don't buy Indian takeaways very often but this one was truly awful, would never return this is Indian food from the seventies, bland, cheap and largely onion (raw), 18 quid down the pictures.

Absolutely disgusting ordered a takeaway, a tarka dhal that was thinner than soup and barely had lentils in it, the Pilau rice what Pilau rice we got some kind of basmati rice which had pink and yellow coloured rice in it no trace of a...cardamon pod or other spices. The mixed kebab starter was dry and inedible the rest of the curries were tasteless. Phoned up to complain was told at first thats how Tarka Dhal is suppose to be pointed out I new how to cook then told the manager wasn't in and would ring back to sort out a refund when he got in which would be in about half an hour hence to say no phone call came. £26 of food for 2 people in the bin will not be ordering again terrible food and poor customer serviceMore
Was awful start to finish .. no taste bland yogurt sauce used to be our regular Indian takeaway not been for ages so thought we’d try again .. very expensive for awful food won’t be ordering again tried to charge us more than it was..... £50 for 3 meals and pickle tray until I added it up myself!More
Popped in here one evening just to get a couple of starters. Not very busy, but they served the most amazing shami kebabs. The mixed kebab starter was good, but not as nice as the shami kebabs.
Fantastic food and at a great price 5 courses for £11 very flavoursome you can actually taste all the ingredients, big portion sizes cooked to perfection, pleasant surroundings clean restaurant and great staff really can’t fault this place.
We visit quite regularly as my mum and dad have visited the place for years. The food is always great and the service as well. They take the time to chat with you and recognise regulars which is always nice. A real jem in Ossett....We have been going for over 15 years and have never had a bad meal. Long may it continueMore
What can i say if you want good indian food this is your place i have been 2 times in 1 week. The currys wow absolutly amazing. We all had mixtures of currys from meat masala,to chicken curru to tikka curry. They was all fab....The starters are also cooked to a very high standard. I will be ordering a takeawah from hear when i fancy a indian also. One of the very best currys i have had all fresh and the service is spot on too nice people. Great i would recommend to try for sure!!!!More
To be fair to them, after years of coming here they have always been great. They give you a beer when you wait for takeaway and the food is always spot on. This is coming from people who enjoy eating at the Hutong in the...shard (yes I know that is Chinese). Enjoy, they deserve your business!More
Having eaten in two other Indian Restaurants in Ossett this is our new favourite. Food was tasty, hot and plentiful. Would highly recommend.
My friends and I eat here regularly and have take always. Having tried all the Indian restaurants in Ossett an surrounding areas we always go back to the Star of India and are never disappointed. The decor might not be the most ornate but it's...clean and the quality of the food more than compensates.More
