Hangout and plywood describes it well. A colorful little patio 'dive' on the hillside over the bay with umbrellas and overhang to keep you in the shade. Very island feel. Fish tacos, fish sandwich and fries was pretty much what was offered along with a nice bar selection including local brewery beers and ciders.
Walk up in your swimsuit and sit right down for eats, a few drinks and some conversation. Fish was very yummy. Fries especially good. Cheap enough. Had interesting conversation with others we met while there. First day they had a 'problem' with their fryer so it took FOREVER to get our fries but it went much better upon our return.

La Plywood is located on the beautiful BBC beach (Morne Rouge) The bartender was very friendly and he joked around a lot. The local gin comes out of a spigot overhead!
There were only 2 menu items on a blackboard, fish tacos or fish sandwich. Local beer but mixed drinks in a paper cup
The fish tacos were good but I had better at another restaurant. We watched the sunset there and it was really nice.
Go for the experience!

Been here a few time for drinks and food. There are only three menu items fish tacos, fish sandwich, fries. Definatley a great place for a snack but perhaps not the place if you want a large meal

Went there because of the high ratings on TA. Fish tacos were more of a long fish stick with cabbage and a grocery store like pico de gallo. French fries were hand cut. For the price it was not worth it.

As others have written, this place has a great vibe. It's tiny, a bit run down, and just down-to-earth. We loved the fish tacos. And the beer is a great price. The menu only has a few items, but what they have is really good. The same owners own Boho's restaurant just around the corner so you can go there is La Plywood is closed.

Cheap beer cheap food, tasty food, friendly service, small portions. Menu written on the chalk board said fish sandwich or fish tacos. No fish sandwich available. Fish tacos were good but small. French fries were real and maybe the best we had on the island. Service was good. Friendly. Parking can be difficult but that is to be expected in Grenada;

La Plywood is a casual place to stop before or after a swim or walk on the BBC Beach.
Their menu is limited, but the food is good. My favorite are the fish tacos. The pina coladas and rum punch are excellent. Local beers are available. You can come directly from the beach with wet swimsuit and enjoy a snack or beverage.

We (literally) ran into this quaint little bar/foodshack after getting caught in a flash storm while at BBC beach
BBC beach itself is a much nicer, more secluded and shaded beach than its larger counterpart Grand Anse.
La Plywood is run by a lovely couple and their young family. The layout is very basic with a series of wooden benches and tables, but perfectly acceptable for a beach side cafe.
The food was simple, the choice was either fish sandwich or fish tacos. The sandwich came with fries but the tacos came by themselves. Both were very tasty. To wash these down we both had strawberry daiquiris, which were strong, but the owner still asked if they were strong enough!
We spent the time hiding from the rain watching the owners' son carrying buckets of sand up from the beach to close off a section of the floor, as he had been promised money by his Dad if he did a certain number of buckets!
I found the bill a little on the expensive side, as we only had 2 snacks and 2 cocktails, but besides that, I would thoroughly recommend La Plywood as a place to eat if you are going to BBC beach.

The vibe is really good and the staff are ok but other than the fish tacos (always amazing) and the 50/50 burger, the food we had was not that great. My chicken burger was literally the cheap reformed burgers no one buys and the fish bites had precisely no seasoning. Charging 2ec for sauce for your wings is cheap and cynical. The rum and cokes were weak and nothing special. All in all a great spot that I have been visiting for years but after revisiting after a few years away from Grenada it felt like just another cynical tourist trap with a great view, which is a shame.

Amazing fresh and quality bar food, great mocktails. We had the vegan tacos, Cajun fries (that were absolutely spiceliscious) and mango slushies. Overall great value and quality fresh food with a priceless view.

Been here a few times last year and wanted to go again. It's a typical beach shack. Rickety furnishings, bits of wood here and there. Right on the beach. Food is good (fish burger, fish taco and chips) and staff are nice. Nice place to chill out and have a few drinks.

On a recently trip to Grenada, my husband and I stayed close to this colorful little beach bar. On 2 Saturday nights, we witnessed the live music--talented singers! Excellent fish tacos, conch bites, fish sandwich & fries. We liked it so much we ate there twice!

Had read about the bar and the beautiful beach and it did not disappoint. It’s a tiny little place so everyone ends up chatting, tourists and locals. The place has lots of character and characters!
We had the fish taco as did the rest of the bar, they listed a burger but I think that might but not too sure that exists. Everyone comes for the taco, everyone goes home happy.
It’s cheap, friendly and with great beach access. Don’t miss out!

Great little find!! Right by the BBC beach with direct access - friendly team - great food - service quick and efficient!! We had fish (barracuda) and chicken tacos, wings, humous (sooo good!!) and chips and everything was good!! Thank you La Plywood - we’ll be back next time!! 😁

Way overrated. The fish taco was simple. Lettuce, tomatoe, average fish only. The atmosphere was really cool but I wouldn’t make a special trip to BBC. If I was there for another reason, maybe.
