I'm sorry but it does NOT deserve the EXCELLENCE CERTIFICATE! I am a university professor I teach the students about the quality of the services so I can with certainty give them this EXECRABLE behavioral example!   The staff is rude, unhelpful! That's how you...can't deal with customers! MISERABLE!!! Let them be ashamed! and clearly does not deserve the certificate of excellence! After a tiring journey, over 600 km we arrived in Kamnik, and being evening (Friday) at 20 pm (I consider it an hour neither too late nor too early) we asked at the hotel where we stayed to recommend a restaurant with traditional Slovenian food. They told us Repnik, it is not far 2 km (I took a taxi) and when we arrived we were greeted with refusal, but in a rough way, unexpected for a praised restaurant. Although there was not much world they told us we couldn't eat there !!! At least in the reviews or on the website of this unit, it is written that you CAN NOT EAT THERE WITHOUT BOOKING, and if you do not have a reservation, RESPOND NICE THAT you can eat only if you have a reservation. Shame on the staff!!! RUDE STAFF.More

First meal in our present trip to Slovenia. The first plate was a great collection of cheese and cold cuts - very special. Then we had veal - My sister loved it, I did not and the risotto was O.K - no more. The price...was relatively high - we understood later in other restaurants.More

My wife and I had 4 course menu : starter, soup, main dish and a dessert, everything was prepared really well and food was tasty. We ate local sausage with mustard seeds for starter, mushroom soup, for main dish we had veal (it was amazing-soft...and juicy) with vegetables and potatoes, and for dessert we had slovenian cake kremšnita, prepared on modern way. Just a reminder- it's a slow food, so take time and enjoy, because it's really delicious.More

Nice, cosy place inside. A bit retro, but nice. Food (half of the family are vegetarians and half of us are "normal") was very good. as a normal person, you could even eat the vegetarian plate, which is more excess than the rule at "local...food restaurant", especially those, where you can get 12h prepared beef or something more exotic, like a "krača" or stuffed beef roast. Try Trnič, local cheese, similar to parmesan cheese. We tried it on pumpkin tagliatelle (similar), which was excellent for me.More

This restaurant has local flavour to the max! No menus, just home cooked love and fresh local in-season ingredients. Out the back is a gorgeous garden with stables and a courtyard, you can see why they are busy all summer with weddings. Just gorgeous scenery...with local chefs and waitresses. Thank you to Sasha and the team for a super memorable experience. And the local dessert - home made ice-cream with pumpkin seed oil was something I had never tried before! A WINNER!More

My first time at this inn, having been told nice things about food & service, read the same in regular column of the currently most influential restaurant critic in the country. To start with, it is a traditonal inn, not a glossy restaurant. Location well...out of the usual way from Ljubljana to Maribor, quite far from Ljubljana as well. A traditional house, accompanied with a modern and truly nice looking additional building offering rooms for obviously very frequent foreign tourists. Parking easy, abundant space. A nice pavillion for weddings on a large lawn. A terrace for the summer months. Clearly key business beside the half-board guests is special events (weddings, birthdays). We had the questionnable benefit of sharing our time with one such party in the main restaurant hall, which required full attention of the staff available. Sadly, my own impression was a disaster. Having booked four days ahead, we had to wait for nearly quarter of an hour before staff prepared a table for us in a relatively nice (and entirely empty) dining room that a busload of tourists has left sometime earlier. No apologies, not even a drink on the house at the bar while we were waiting. Service by a completely fed-up male waiter was something one should best forget. Wine list non-existent, the choice of wine that the landlady (clearly alarmed by an obviously outraged guest) brought to the table was sadly limited to some dozen bottles of low to medium quality level. We wanted to order the dishes recommended by the above critic only to learn that you have to order these at least a day in advance, otherwise you have the classical low level guesthouse choice for the average gourmand (not gourmet, kindly note), prepared in a very correct, yet uninspired way. 9 on a 1-20 scale for the kitchen impression. However, when we were about to curse the day, the desserts came as a revelation – just like being in another restaurant. Designer plates and perfect patissier products – reportedly by the same chef. No idea.... Great place for simple wedding parties, great place for your everyday Slovenian guest needing a serious wienerschnitzel at very friendly prices. But avoid if looking for a gourmet experience. Thereagain, you can read the usual enthusiastic praises of generously rewarded writers with ever new nicks that help nearly all restaurants here to have 4-4.5 out of 5 circles. There seem to be many such in Slovenia…More

A small cozy restaurant, a relaxed atmosphere and never saw a menu. The waitress spoke very good English and described all that as on offer. I had the cold meat and pâté platter, this was superb. Next was pork from the Mangalica pig served with...Veg and potatoes. Again a dish that was faultless The pudding was a raspberry selection, again perfect. I drank the local Mali Grad pale ale which was impressive. Also to note the price for all this was very reasonable.More
