Super-friendly and helpful staff! We got a little lunch here and coffee, all delicious. Had a nice chat with a team member, she gave us good recommendations for places to shop kyrgyz specialties.

Very nice place to chill, have a very good coffee or tea, eat a piece of the various excellent cakes and chat with locals and other backpackers. They even offer good food or can recommend restaurants. Best place to get information about Karakol and the...surroundings. The staff is very nice and helpful. A must-visit in Karakol!More

This is THE traveler's cafe of Karakol. Great to hook up with other people and get travel information

Fat Cat gets amazing reviews but it is fundamentally a cafe - doing coffee and cakes. We rocked up expecting an evening meal. There was beer in the fridge, but not a lot of it and when we had bought some the fridge was bare....The only meal food seemed to be pizza. It was OK, and maybe it was our fault for expecting a restaurant when we had come to a cafe, but if I had another evening in Karakol I would try somewhere different.More

Cute little cafe with donations helping local people. I’m veggie so had scrambled egg on toast and a coffee. Friendly service.

Perhaps the number one tourist cafe in Karakol. Lots of useful information, drinks and food. If you want to hook up with other travelers, this is the place.

After being served with the wrong sandwich, my friend was asked to pay not only the wrong sandwich but also the sandwich he actually ordered (which was still under preparation). The owner was very harsh and said it was my friend's own mistake to eat...the wrong sandwich (since the breakfast sandwich obviously cannot have tomatoes on it...). When complaining about this I was accused to behave worse to people in Kyrgistan than in my home country. Coffee wasn't bad though.More

1. He DID NOT pay for the sandwich that he ate. The second sandwich that he paid was packed to go and he took it with him. If you want to be objective, please be objective to the end. 2. There is a difference between...More

The restaurant has boards up about what they are doing for the community and how you can help. This is a great idea and we would have liked to return based on this, however, we didn't think much of the coffee, other things on the...menu like the milkshakes weren't available and unfortunately because of this we ended up taking our business elsewhere.More

Very welcoming staff and for sure the best coffee you can get in town. The veggie Sandwich was good as well and so was the mint tea. Fat Cat is a good place to spend 1-2hrs to read and talk with people to find out...where to go next.More
