We were staying at the boathouses on Portoroz Marina. Good value for the quality of the food provided compared to other restaurants we tried at the marina and in Portoroz. Our hummus and dips were homemade and the pork shank was cooked from scratch (they told us about the 40-minute cooking time when we ordered - it was worth it!) Lovely location right on the water, perfect for people watching and watching the sunset. We also visited for drinks the day before. A nice 'resort' feel and beach vibe. Overall, 3 waitresses attended to us and every one of them was polite, helpful and efficient. It is a hidden gem because I wasn't expecting it to be so nice as it's in a very busy campsite with an eclectic mix of tents, caravans and motorhomes.

Best food, cocktails & views in Portoroz, Slovenia. Takamaka serves the best food & drinks with a stunning view over the bay & marina.
We came for dinner & cocktails. Good size portions of great quality food.
Wonderful customer service, our waitress even recommended a cocktail with an extra special surprise! Highly recommend this place.
Tip: you will need to walk through a campsite to find/access this restaurant and bar.

Still top last year, this year a flop from the start...
Reservation not found, come with 5 people, get assigned a table for 4.
First impression: Dirty, worn-out food and drink menus, dirty, loveless decoration.
After a long wait we were allowed to order.
Drinks fine, food worlds worse than last year.
Burger small, meat very raw. Ordered was a burger with truffle cheese and asparagus. Traces of asparagus were present, sauce with truffle aroma, cheese???
Prices for the quality much too high.
Dirty dishes were at the table forever after dinner, although various waiters passed the table.
When paying, there is the brazen question of how much to tip when paying by card.

Takamaka is located near the sea. They also have DJs in the evenings and a special, delicious food choice. Unfortunately the staff (a very short guy with dyed short hair) was very rude to us. He did not even look us in the eyes and was quite impatient. He basically treated us like dogs, until we wanted to pay (I guess he was hoping to get a tip). I get that he was tired from working or maybe he had a bad day, but its not fair to treat costumers this way! Especially due to high prices we at least expected to be treated respectfully and humane and we were not the only ones to notice rude behaviour of this man.

We are a family with 3 teenagers. Excellent alcohol free cocktails, really soft and succulent roast beef, fresh wild adriatic fish and fabulous sweets - chocolate souffle and panna cotta with honey and truffles. Very much recommended, extremely enjoyable.

The bar is very nice, in a beautiful location and renovated. I have been visiting it all these years, but I have been very disappointed by the staff working here. the staff is catastrophic, the waiters are constantly complaining about how crowded they are, even though only a few tables are full. the worst thing is that they don't have the right attitude towards the client, they are negative and they can't even smile ...

otherwise, the location is excellent with a view of PortoroĹľ and embraces the entire bay, but the service is at a minimum speed. We got the first drink within 15-20 minutes, but after half an hour we gave up on the second round of drinks and left.

The cocktails are divine, some of the best drinks i have ever had. The prices are comparable to other similiras places if not even a tiny bit cheaper. The waiters are extremely nice and pleasant as well as very knowledgeable about their profession, ask them for a recommendation and be prepared to have your mind blown away. If you want a chill place by the sea to just relax drink some cocktails and eat some nice food this is the place for you.
