Gotta love Sokkelunden and their tartar with bearnaice. Place is always very cozy and in lovely Frederiksberg

There is no doubt Sokkelund is a magnet for social dining in Frederiksberg. The buzz within the cafe creates an excellent atmosphere with everyone half expecting to see someone of fame. This special atmosphere is let down by the quality of food. The mussels were...good but accompanied with a thin sauce that lacked flavour. Knorr could have made a better sauce. The pomme frits were dry and over cooked. Mc Donalds makes french fries much better. The cheese burger with bacon lacked flavour in the beef whilst the toasted burger bun resembled a soggy pizza bun saturated with fat. Great atmosphere but the food?!?! The judges of Vild med dans should speak out!More

Had a business lunch with a colleague. Nice place, young yet professional vibes. We had the traditional Danish open-face sandwiches (Smørrebrød) which were all excellent. Better make a reservation. During lunchtime they seem to be very busy.

We are traveling across the world, and then, in our own little Denmark...... The best steak ever. Thank you. This was an absolute top pleasure.

I've been visiting this 'bistro' several times during the past 15 years. Every time in the hope of it becoming my new hangout. Because Sokkelund is a super cosy place with no compromises on the French bistro interior. Just like NYs Balthazar (only smaller). Problem...has (almost) always been the prices, and every time I come here, its become even more expensive. Now the prices are more or less as expensive as Cafe Europa on Strøget/Copenhagen. But the food has actually always been quite good, though too expensive, which must be the reason why the place is always fully booked. On their classic Bistro menu is their menu of burgers, which I remember as quite good (and was something that people once talked about). They're not anymore. Its 200 kr. burgers (incl a small handful of frites)! And they taste like something from the 90s. Meat is bland, bun looks homemade but taste like from a supermarket, soggy lettuce and a boring mayo. But the worse thing was that the burgers was salty as hell (and I am usually not afraid of salt). Almost inedible. After two-three mouthful I couldn't eat more. I dont know what it is they are trying to achieve with these burgers, but they seem more our of place than ever. 2 beers, 2 Cokes, 4 burgers and 1086 kr poorer I am wondering if the french vibe was worth this family dinner.More

We were very satisfied with our meals and environment of the restaurant. Service was also good, even though it was very busy friday evening.

This is the place to go if you want to rub shoulders with Frederiksbergs rich and famous. The bar itself reminds one of Cafe Victor in the center of Copenhagen. The service and quality is however better at Sokkelund.

2 persons. Saturday, 10:30. Place was full, so book a table to be sure! We ordered a brunch menu each with filter coffee. Coffee was refilled four times in two hours, three time offerede because the Staff noticed the empty cups. One menuen adjusted, by...removal of cheese and added ham, without problems. A bit af a long wait from order to food service, but it was worth the wait! The salmon, spinach, egg, hollandaise dish was very good. Portion size was good. Price is maybe a little above Copenhagen average, but service and food quality, portion size gives acceptable value.More

I have been to this place numerous times over the past years but my last visit was a disappointment. First of all, the place was packed around lunchtime on this ordinary Wednesday in January. This obviously reflects the popularity of the place but it can...also be too much when you are asked to move from your table to the bar because your table is reserved and when you can hardly move around. Also, the prices seem to have moved upwards and out of a reasonable range. I had two pieces of "smørrebrød", one of which was excellent (roastbeef) and one that was average and lacking taste (stjerneskud) at more than 30 dollars a piece. This is Hybris and in the future I will certainly go elsewhere to some of the other excellent lunch restaurants around Copenhagen who command prices more in line with what you get and where you can sit in peace and enjoy your stay.More

Food was really good, had yogurt with fruit and almond and honey and the pancakes. Fresh fruit on top of it. Orange juice was ‘fresh’ according to the menu but not freshly squeezed unfortunately so not great. Really busy so had to sit at the...bar but that was fine. A little more expensive than most breakfast places in Copenhagen but also bigger portions.More
