Very expensive for what little basic food you get, that's if they remember you have ordered some. Then with a gentle reminder it comes burnt! So with another gentle reminder you get a totally different meal than was ordered. So we then need to speak with manager who then just orders you out of pub and wants the drinks back... More

£10 burgers - those processed school fete burgers. Cheap dry burger bun. Plastic cheese. Average chips. No salad or relish, or flavour. Big disappointment to a beautiful day at the Peaks.

Visited for lunch with my partner and the children , kids meals were average but they seemed to enjoy them. I ordered the beef roast dinner and my partner the lamb roast dinner. The veg was average, the carrots looked old! The Yorkshire puddings were frozen ones, roast potatoes burnt but to top it off the meat was gross! It... More

I was cycling in the Hope Valley and arrived at about 2pm tired and hungry. The barman, while very polite, waited for me to look over the menu and then only when I went to order said that it as it was past 2pm (a few minutes) they were no longer serving. Even a cold snack such as sandwich was... More

The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds and building are kept well making for a warm and welcoming place. The staff were very friendly, too. The food was great! What was also lovely was that they had a great selection of vegetarian dishes (and gluten free options for that matter too). Would definitely come back and wouldn't hesitate to... More

This pub does look good from the outside and promises home cooked food. Menu does not have a wide selection so Mother and I thought we would have the traditional fish and chips. Food arrived fish had very thick batter which was very greasy and not cooked in places frozen chips that were hardly cooked and had no colour and... More

The pub looks lovely from the outside and we stopped for lunch after a long walk. The place was practically empty which wasn't encouraging. Staff were mediocre and food was not good. Starters were ok and decent portions but mains were awful. Steak and ale pie was watery with greasy chips and burger was thin and so processed it made... More

The steak and ale pie was very good, amazing how much meat that they can fit into one pie. I asked if they could do me a salad as there wasn't one on the menu and the pleasant and very helpful staff arranged a cheese salad for me, which had a great variety of cheeses, it was more like a... More

Nice pub but no atmosphere. Nice in the garden in the summer, but inside its a little boring. Good beer, didn't try the food
