Just returned from this pub after enjoying the light display in Castleton. We did arrive a little late in the evening but were quick to order. However, sadly our food was very disappointing. My chicken, from the specials board, had been incinerated and the chips...More

Just called for a quick drink- having walked up Man Tor. A lovely ale, Sheffields Moonstone pale ale. Lovely. There was a nice buzz to the place- but sadly in need of updating to bar areas (bedrooms not seen)

Visited again after two- year absence. Warm welcome, good well-kept ales, excellent food (esp the pork belly), attractive and well-maintained.

Nice meals, traditional country inn and nice and peaceful surroundings. Took my granddaughter who's 13 and she loved her meal. Staff were pleasant and happy to help with anything on the menu. Worth another visit sometime I know.

A country pub with character that turns out simple and delightful veggie options? Nah, must be a dream... only it isn't because you're not supposed to have the same dream twice asd we've been back within the week. Simple, excellent and parsimonious too with a...More

Lovely countryside inn tucked away in the Derbyshire countryside. Good choice of traditional fare and a great refuelling place for walkers. We had the ploughmans which had locally sourced ham and pork pie. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Recommend tbe Bakewell Pudding for afters!!
