Great food, I had the slow roasted belly pork and my wife a steak and kidney suet pudding, followed by a sweet of apple crumble with custard. Delicious. Be aware that the parking area is quite small and located close to a blind corner with a building getting in the way of your line of sight, luckily the road was... More

had a lovely meal on Thursday night - pub busy but service excellent - returned the next day for lunch - at a really good sandwich sitting in the pub garden. Great place to stop whilst on a walking holiday - portions very generous and good value.

What a wonderful place. A building oozing with charm. Located just out of town on a quiet green road. Our room was of nice size and well renovated and fitted out. Laura the owner was a delight to deal with a genuinely lovely person. Breakfasts were the highlight of the day with a great selection and a well presented '... More

We visited for a family tea this weekend whilst staying in Hope. Friendly staff and a lovely little pub. Met dome really lovely local customers. The food was fantastic. Homemade chicken goujons for our daughter and wild boar burgers for us. Excellent quality and most definitely home made to order. Would most definitely return if we are ever in the... More

My husband and I enjoyed an evening meal in this quirky pub! I had the steak and kidney pudding which was extremely enjoyable. After a strenuous cycle ride the next day we returned to the pub for lunch and I enjoyed the fisherman's lunch whilst my husband had the farmers lunch, both delicious. To sum up the food is good,... We visited this pub last year and enjoyed the experience so we thought we would try it again. However, it was rather disappointing with tasteless vedgetables piled full on the plate. I had belly pork and it was not impressive and the Cajun chicken was likewise. It has a good reputation but on this showing they need to improve.

I’m very sorry to hear that your experience wasn’t as good as previously. I can assure you that nothing has changed here since your last visit. Our meat is still sourced from Watson’s Farm shop in the village and cooked in the same way, however, I will look into your issues with the vegetables and see if there is anything... More

Be aware this pub opens for a couple of hours at lunchtime. However, the choice of meals is extensive and the food was very well presented and tasted great. There is a small selection real ales and lager but overall an enjoyable visit.

Nice pub and very popular spot. Starter was great. However mains were merely average, with the chips a bit unpleasant and the veg inedible. A little disappointing given the reviews and the price but by no means awful. Hopefully just a slightly off night!

Great Pub! Highly recommended for relaxing stay serving good food and comfy accommodation. Staff friendly and very helpful, nothing too much trouble. There is live folky music on certain nights (check dates). Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Booked a meal here as we were staying nearby. We were a group of 12, 6 adults and 6 kids. The food was generally tasty, mostly 'pub grub' but with a few more unusual offerings and the portions generous. The service was friendly and efficient. An added bonus was that it was quiz night so we finished off the evening... More
