-- but it was "off" the menu. A disappointing start on a very cold afternoon in a typical Derbyshire walkers' pub. No carpets, just hundreds of years wear on a flagstone floor welcoming walkers and their dogs alike. Decor to match - shabby chic - no two tables matching nor chairs. But a really welcoming atmosphere. Now for lunch. My... More

Visited on a Friday night as never been in and wanted to have a peek. We were immediately taken with the beautiful historic feel of the place and lit open fires. We went in around 6.30pm and most of the tables were reserved, an obvious testament to the quality of the meals available (we're going to book next time!)

A friendly pub with a good choice of food where booking seems necessary at weekends. The service is good, the portions are generous and the choice and quality of the beer excellent.

A welcome pub with great grub. They even have musical evenings and quizzes. Definitely a pub to aim for when walking in the Peaks.

Lovely pub, with a good choice of meals - didn't have any, but plenty of real and local ales. Lovely place to stop if out walking - a must visit - really relaxed with lovely staff.
