This restaurant was recommended by the owner of the b&b we stayed in. The food was very good and the portions were decent. The outdoor seating arrangement is very nice and inside looked lovely too. The prices are quite high but not terrible, however since we spent 91 euros I would have appreciated if they'd offered us a digestive drink... More

Despite having visited Brisighella for a number of years now, this is the first time that we have visited La Grotta and we were impressed. So much so that we went again the following night. The restaurant is literally a cave where it has been carved out of the rock with much of the bare rock left exposed which produces... More

The food and service at La Grotta were superb, really superior to many places where we have eaten in more heavily touristed Italian cities. Everything we ordered was tasty, beautiful and well-executed. The atmosphere is surprisingly friendly and unpretentious given the high qualify of the food. I particularly remember an excellent octopus salad with gazpacho for a starter, a really... More

The setting in itself is wonderous, as you eat inside a cave! Of course a well designed and beautifully arranged cave. There is both a fish and meat menu, but as I ate fish dishes I can only say it was delicious.Price and quality were very good.

Having spent a week dining al fresco in several Italian towns and cities we were a little wary of a restaurant with no outdoor terrace and whose claim to fame is being able to eat in a cave like setting bored into the under-cliffs of Brisighella. We needn't have worried however as the seafood in which La Grotta specialises was... More

This place more than deserves its great rep. We had the 30 euro four course prix fixe lunch - which included an enjoyable bottle of Trebbiano for the two of us. The highlight was the antipasto, which had five takes on interesting dishes and flavours. Other courses were enjoyable too.

they say "never trust a skinny cook!"... here, we were greeted by the splendidly proportioned jovial chef/owner... and it couldn't have gone better! delicate chickpea & calamari soup and wait for it... fish & chips! (my choice... the menu is exhaustive and superbly varied): fresh, crunchy and delicious. my companions ate pasta alla siciliana and gnocchi with crab sauce... to... More
