The food was fantastic, highly recommend tagliere salumi and formaggi. The customer service was impeccable. The ambiance was right in the middle of the plaza. The two owners made sure everything was perfect. Thank you very much, definitely coming back.

We stayed in Ostia for 3 nights and visited this place twice. The menu is small but really tasty. It's almost like a tapas restaurant with lots of little plates and platters. All the ingredients are from artisan producers and as locally sourced as possible....The cheese and meats are of the highest quality, and the wine is superb! The sangiovese they offer by the glass was incredible. We shared 3 or 4 plates served with really nice bread and had a few glasses of wine each time. Our server was really lovely, friendly, knowledgable and thankfully for us spoke excellent English. He welcomed us back the second time as though we were regulars. We will definitely return if we make it back to Ostia. Wishing you every success!More

Very good service, decoration and location, but actually this is not really a restaurant. Excellent for drink and lite snack. The filled pizza is more like a sandwich. Very tasty, but a sandwich

Serve a wonderful selection of local Umbrian and Lazio dishes, especially meats with bruschetta and focaccia. Lots of pork and truffle. We had a great meal washed down with a recommended local red wine. (Lago di Corbara)

What makes for a truly great dining experience? In my book, it involves a handful of factors all working in harmony: a unique or compelling setting; feeling the warmth of the owners and staff; authentic and compelling flavors; doses of creativity; attentive service with just...the right amount of conversation; and, a few surprises to bring a smile to the face. With this definition, Gastaldino - La Salumeria 2.0 knocked it out of the park. A few of the highlights: a new twist on carpaccio, in this case zucchini paired with razor-thin cured turkey; "stuffed" pizza (a/k/a a really thin panini) with a truffle oil-infused mushroom and chicory blend; and a surprisingly semi-sweet white Passito paired with homemade, sugar-dusted biscotti. I could go on but I think you get the point. The only surprise was to be this close to the sea (2 blocks or so) and have no seafood on the menu. Until remembering this was a little slice of Umbria just south of the Fiumicino (Rome) Airport. And Umbria is Italy's only landlocked province - hence food of the land is on full display. Take the 90 minute or so drive north to Orvietto or Spoleto...or just head to Ostia for a real treat. Pick a pretty day (for alfresco dining) or get there early - just 14 seats inside - lest you have a well-worth-it wait. Buon Appetito!More

Very nice location in the pederastrian area of Ostia, near the sea. A good selection of wine and appetizer not only from Umbria. Very very good, you cant miss it!

It’s not a restaurant, but a wonderful place to dive into the italian way of life. Authentic food from Umbria and very reasonably priced regional wines served in a relaxed setting and atmosphere among (wild guess) 90% local guests: Italy doesn‘t get much better than...this. The food was amazing, a wide selection of meats and cheese knowledgeably sourced along with wines to go with it.We sat outside facing the main square, only minutes away from the sea.The staff was kind and extremely friendly! Found this salumeria on Trip Advisor since we were attending the opera at nearby Ostia Antica. Great food - cheese plate, meat plate, various appetizers. Good prices. Friendly staff. Limited wine list. Good value. Restaurant is on one of the main piazzas of Lido di...Ostia, so the area has some good energy.More
