Warning, my experience was very bad. I came in an evening in the middle of the week. Due to unjustified high rating here the resturant was full. There is no menu in english and the waitress did not speak english. about the food: the first dish for a couple was nothing special, the pasta with asparagus and calamari was very... More

I adore this Roman, family-run restaurant in campagnano. Dishes are traditional but fresh, tasty & exciting. I'm not kidding. Many hard-to-find old school Roman dishes such as minestra di broccoli e arzilla (broccoli skate soup), vignarola (broad beans, peas & artichokes), coratella, pajata... I could go on and on. Run by a lovely couple with occasional help from their kids.... More

We've been there on a Saturday lunch. Four adults, three kids and a dog. I booked for 2pm but we could not reach there on time. I got a phone call while we were walking through Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The restaurant was still full. Unfortunately I did not informed them about the fact that my niece was celiac, my wife... What a find! We were staying in a villa in the area and decided to try this place on a previous guests recommendation. I'm so glad we did! The food is exceptional, everything we ordered was delicious, quite inventive and well priced. The menu does not appear to be child friendly but upon ordering the rabbit our 6 year olds... More

We stopped here on the way to Rome, the place is not fancy but the food is amazing. The owner showed great passion for the cooking and the quality of ingredients. We found the place through the Slow Food guide to Italian Osterie, which tries to inspire a new way of thinking about the food we grow and eat. Osterie... More

The owners of this osteria are passionate about what they do, and you can tell with each and every plate you sample. We've been numerous times and have never been disappointed. If you want superb Roman cuisine, get out of Rome proper and head to Campagnano.

A friend/colleague brought me to this restaurant for a business lunch, he told me that they made the best "fritto misto" he had ever tasted, i was skeptical but he was actually right: they make an incredible dish and anyone that goes there should try it because that alone is well worth the trip. The other plates were nothing less,... More

Campagnano is usually known for rough, traditional Roman cuisine. Iotto is an exceptio. Limited menu, but great food. Must have their fritto misto (a superb blend of different tastes) with no dripping oil. VERY good. The tagliatelle or lasagnette are home made. The meats (they also have smoked herrings) are delicate - superb Coda alla Vaccinara or the Abbacchio -... More

We recently stayed in Campagnano di Roma for 2 weeks. We travelled extensively in the area including Rome itself, and can safely say that the best food we ate was in this delightful little restaurant in the town centre. (don’t be put off by the external appearance-the quaint exterior belies this homely friendly inn.) The owners (husband and wife) were... More

A small establishment right on the main street of this medieval village, situated a few miles north of Rome, "Iotto" focuses mainly on traditional recipes, making extensive use of local produce. We visited on a friday night, and were seated outdoors, right on the street pavement where a handful of tables is clustered under some huge umbrellas. It was nice... More
