Having called in at the spur of the moment we managed to get a table to have some lunch. The measures put in place were very good to keep everyone safe from the ongoing pandemic. The lunch menu was great and the food was delicious, so much we booked a table for the following week. We arrived the following week and ordered our food. It arrived in good time and was lovely. i didn't take a picture of my steak as it didn't look very good. I ate it and at the end our server whom was the manager asked as he was cleaning the table if everything was ok, we said yes as it was lovely. When i asked for the bill i checked it over and it said that my steak was served with chips. i questioned this with the waitress and told her that i only had steak, 3 onion rings and a tomato on my plate. she asked me if i had chips with it and i said no. she checked with the manager and he said that the chips were served on a larger plate and was a portion for two people, my brother in law was having the pie and that came with chips and peas but this was only on a small plate. The waitress went and told the manager and instead of him coming back to talk to me sent the waitress to tell me that "When he asked if everything was ok, we said yes it was lovely" but because i didn't question having chips on my plate there was nothing he was going to do. This left me feeling quite disgruntled as we didn't have the larger plate as he said we were supposed to have and he didn't even mention that it was for two people. I told her that i didn't ming paying for it but it wasn't made clear about what was mine and what was my brother in laws food as we were sat at opposite ends of the table. when you're paying ÂŁ13.50 you would expect to have good value for money and on this occasion i was left feeling somewhat cheated. Will i go back? Yes i would as its a lovey place, food never fails to deliver but the customer service at the end was appalling I'm afraid to say. I have always posted extremely positive comments about the Seabirds and have been coming for the last 20 years but today they've let me down. TI always post photos of the food but having difficulties doing so on this occasion

Staying just 1 night in Flamborough, we chose the Seabirds Inn for an evening meal. Staff were extremely respective of the Covid guidelines when booking on the phone and from arriving at the restaurant. Modern, friendly place, with a good choice of food and specials menu. We both had fish as the main course, Hake and Haddock, cooked well and very tasty but the garlic mushroom starter was 10/10.

We visited this venue for Sunday lunch between the gradual release of lockdown and its “full” release, so it was accompanied by frustrating mask on to enter, then mask off at tables, but on again to visit the toilet rules….. (not the fault of the venue!) We were quickly seated and orders were taken promptly. Menu choices are good, not too extensive, a good sign, as too many choices can mean freshness and food care issues in our experience. My wife and I chose the fish and chips, our eldest son chose the beef. For starters we ordered fish cakes and the fried Brie. The food arrived in good time, no long waits. Staff were attentive. My wife’s starter were served on an oval slate, barely bigger than the food, my son’s and mine arrived on long wooden indented boards. I do find this pretentious, what’s wrong with a plate, which can be kept cleaner and more hygienic, surely? The food, however, was tasty, hot and very good in quality. The main courses were served on plates, mercifully. All were excellent, very hot and plentiful. Everything was ready at the same time, all arrived similarly heated, adding to the feeling that standards here in the kitchen are very high, and that the chef is skilled and demanding of high standards. Bravo! Tables were clean, seats comfortable and the general atmosphere agreeable. Prices are interesting. The main courses are sensibly and realistically priced, given the quality and the volume of the food served. Starters are a bit more keenly priced, but quality is very good. The whole aesthetic experience of eating at very good venues like this will be ineffably enhanced when proper normality is returned, if it ever is. We were delighted to see the place fully booked, to the pleasure of staff and customers. Times have been hard for eating establishments, closed against their will and then restricted by all manner of bureaucratic impositions. Let’s hope the good folks of Bridlington and Flamborough support these places, they deserve it.

Sadly this once good restaurant, always used to serve simple food to a high standard, but the last two times they have shown they are not maintaining the standards. We were told they had run out of scallops as a top dressing for the fish pie, but these were substituted with cheap small pealed prawns and as you dug through the watery soup they call mash potato you just found some tasteless mainly grey flesh. No salmon or smoked fish to add flavour. No choice of specials were on offer, the waitress told us all starters were not available and the only meat pie, normally a delight, was meat and potato and we know that means "no meat pie" Maybe the standards will come back when the caravaners go home for the winter. But we wont be returning.

I emailed the Seabirds prior to our visit to ask if we need to book a table to eat outside and was informed we did not but was on a first come first serve basis. Therefore we arranged to meet family there to celebrate my 40th birthday. When we arrived there was plenty of room outside so we got ourselves settled. There were 6 adults and 4 children. (social distancing of course). Another young family started talking to us and said they had been told they could not eat outside. I went in and was told by the staff they only serve food outside at lunchtime. I explained that I had emailed and was not told this. The staff member said that there was nothing he could do apart from sit us inside. With the current situation this was not really an option for us. I said that the restaurant would make over ÂŁ100 in food and drink purchases. His response was a smug, it doesn't really matter, he has 80 people booked in and are the only pub serving food in the village. In other words we don't need your custom. He also said I should understand what with the coronavirus but surely allowing people to eat outside is the most sensible thing to do. This is the 3rd time we've visited and each time we are made to feel unwelcome and a burden. Just because an establishment is successful does not mean it should treat its customers this way. I am sure the staff will come back with a comment suggesting we were difficult but all we wanted was a safe meal with our children. They kids were hungry but thankfully we discovered a lovely restaurant with friendly staff costing half of Seabirds menu.

We visited on a Tuesday early evening, the restaurant was almost full and immediately we noticed they were under staffed. Taking our order took longer than we expected. We had 3 starters between 4 which was enough.. The Mediterranean starter was poor and expensive. The main meals were all well over portioned! The lamb kofta was obviously bought in as was the flat bread.. Side salad was literally a bowl of mixed leafs for ÂŁ3.50. Veg wasn't seasoned and all the sauces etc were in sachets which just made the place seem cheap. Considering it was ment to be the best place to eat in the area we were disappointed and was definitely overpriced for bought in food

In answer to your review which we thank you for nowhere on our menu does it say the lamb kofta is homemade and if you expect homemade flat bread you are living in a different world from that of a village restaurant als I don’t know if you have heard of a small pandemic called Covid but we are using government guidelines to use all condiments in sachets to avoid contamination maybe establishments in your area are not so Covid precautions aware

Visited yesterday, we were 10 minutes early and I felt like we were punished for it!! We were abruptly told that we couldn't order until after a certain time. After waiting 30mins our order was taken. We had to wait another 45 minutes for our food to arrive whilst other guests were being served their starters, mains and deserts whilst we sat there with children wishing we'd have brought some snacks to eat. When the food eventually arrived it was okay but not great. Staff were not welcoming at all (excluding the young lady that served us our food). We only ordered mains which in total took 2hrs and 15mins. Ridiculous service.

Lunch for four adults, with small child..... food was served piping hot and I thought represented good value for money...given the quite large menu on offer. Service was informal and very good . I have to say other reviews here talking about rude management and staff surprise me - not our experience at all and this was our second visit in recent times.

Used to come with my partner regularly to the seabirds during our visits to flamburough. We had a couple of disappointing meals in the past but wanted to give the place another chance as we understand these are challenging times and we used to enjoy coming. I wish we hadn't bothered. We were sat down by a young waitress and then left for over 20 minutes in the corner even though it was reasonably quiet. Both our meals were awful despite avoiding the luxury fishpie and spinach ricotta which are interestingly no longer "homemade" like it said before. My partners fresh fish tasted off and the vegetables as if they were frozen. The place soon became busy and we were forgotten again. No one came to see if our meals were ok and when we tried to get the waitress's attention we were told twice someone would be with us, and surprise no come came. The couple on the table next to us just shook they heads and laughed as if this was something expected. Came to pay and I thought I was going to get my head bitten off by the bartender whilst I can only assume is the manager leaned over and sniggered. Was really uncomfortable and left upset leaving. I can only assume the place has changed hands? The quality of the food is no longer what it used to be and the customer service.. I don't think they know the meaning of the words anymore. Avoid :(

Steve and I called here, on speck, after a 4 hour walk along the coastal path. The staff are polite, courteous and explained the covid requirements very well, meaning we felt safe at all times. I ordered the smoked haddock from the specials menu, it was a bit pricey for me but I was not disappointed. The portion of haddock was quite huge, cooked to perfection, sauce to die for and a lovely selection of vegetables. Steve was very happy too with the beef lasagne and said the garlic bread was amazing. The decor is nice and the beer very well kept, we had East Coast IPA. It was our second visit and it will not be our last.

We visited on a Friday lunchtime, very early on. There is always a civilised atmosphere at this place, calm and grown-up. Staff, all young men on this occasion, were friendly and polite, attentive, but not pushy. Orders were taken quickly and the food arrived in very good time. All the food was very hot when it arrived, sign of a kitchen working well. Both our starters were very good. My wife’s Brie, with a sauce and salad, was excellent, even though it was served on a small slate not large enough for the task of containing the food whilst eating….. Why not a plate? My tomato soup was excellent also, tasty and interesting, mercifully served in a bowl. Right from the start one feels that the food has been carefully prepared and that standards here in the kitchen are high, which is the most important aspect when choosing where to eat out. Our main courses were uniformly first rate. My wife had the chargrilled chicken from the main menu, I had the cottage pie from the lunch menu. Both were plentiful and very good. Quantities were plentiful and we both came away well filled and satisfied. The venue is very clean and tidy, well appointed and always a pleasure to visit. They have instigated a special lunch two-course menu, with a free sixth meal, to encourage regular dining. This is to be applauded. Times have been very hard for restaurants like this, they deserve all the help they can get. We shall certainly return. The special lunchtime menu is very well priced to encourage regular visits, given the quality one receives there. Some venues are a bit niche and require special pleading, this one doesn’t. I would happily take anyone from H.M. Queen downwards, knowing they would be well fed and looked after by courteous, friendly staff.

vegan choice for main course only should have vegan starter and dessert Make sure you check bill was overcharged by ÂŁ78.00 once challenged bill was corrected however server said sometimes this happens perhaps they should sense check bill before taking to table Dispite this i would return as food outweighs service food hot and good quality.sauvignon was good. Need to ensure your booking is made as not good at getting back to you & on calling in told other customer 'well we've very busy' when he said had call but not had return call.

Pre-booked Sunday lunch due to COVID. One way system on arrival. Hand sanitizer in the entrance and a hand wipe for each diner on the table. All staff wore visors and were very friendly. The restaurant looked newly decorated which made the dining a great experience. Me and my husband had Sunday lunch. I had turkey and my husband had lamb. The plate came with plenty of meat, Yorkshire pudding and 2 roast potatoes. Veg came separately. Salt and pepper came in little sachets (again, COVID friendly) A tasty meal and everything was well cooked. We finished with dessert which was very nice. My husband had the Tiramisu cake and I had the lemon and coconut cake with custard. We both said we would love to try an evening meal. Very impressed.

Booked a table here for 1.30 because they allowed dogs ( in bar area) as had intended to go for a cliff top walk however weather was awful so ended up getting there about 1230 instead. The young girl who greeted us was so welcoming and friendly and certainly made us feel that even though an hour early it wasn’t a problem. Full covid restrictions were in place and strictly adhered to. We had a sharing platter as starters followed by main courses and deserts. Food was excellent well cooked, very tasty and on hot plates which is always a good sign the chef knows what he/she is doing. Coffees followed and we eventuallyleft at 3.20 . Never made to feel we were out staying our welcome. Extremely friendly and helpful staff great food.

Best to book as number of tables is restricted with Covid regulations. We visited on a Tuesday night for dinner and our dog was welcome in the front room. Trace and track procedures are followed. Food is of high quality well prepared and presented. We both had prawn cocktail starter with rump steak to follow. The steak was served with chips peas onion rings and tomato and cooked to order. The homemade cheesecake was an excellent way to round of the meal . Service was efficient and staff pleasant.
