This restaurant is in a central location and has views over the sea.
The fish on display looked very fresh and well presented.
The staff were efficient and friendly enough but the prices here are horrendous. I misheard our waitress when she told me the price of the lobster we were shown & even though I thought it was very expensive I decided to push the boat out. When I asked what accompanied the lobster I was told that it came on its own and I had to order side dishes, another shock.
When it arrived it was poorly presented,simply put onto our plates without any embellishment.
The actual lobster was nothing special and somewhat undercooked.
When the bill came I was shocked as the lobster was actually €40 more than the €100 I had heard ,but fortunately my wife had heard the waitress clearly & an embarrassing exchange was avoided.
All in all a well run , neat and tidy establishment with pleasant staff and views over the sea.
If you look around La Caleta you will find much better food at much better prices .

I visited La Vieja a few months ago with two friends for lunch, and overall, it was an excellent experience. The location is stunning, with beautiful views that make the meal even more enjoyable.

We recently ate at this restaurant. The starter was really good, but unfortunately the main course could not convince. As a main course we ordered fish, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations – it was not well prepared and did not justify the high price we paid for it.

We loved this restaurant, celebrated the new year 2022, 2023 here, we had nice lunches with the family. On December 31, 2024, celebrating the upcoming year 2025, we were unpleasantly surprised. Quite good food, however, the restaurant is on a completely wrong track. Due to the wind, the furniture exterior walls were closed. Unfortunately, no one has cleaned up here for some time, because you have not seen similar exterior walls through the pavilion. Good thing being in Tenerife changed our minds when we saw it, and we booked for dinner on Friday 06 and February.
If I sum it up in one word: SPECTACULAR. Everything. The product, the attention, the place. If you are looking for a good restaurant in the area, do not hesitate. More than enough rations, and I'm not exactly short of food.

We have been to La Vieja food several times it was different so far but still worth a visit we also knew that we are in the upscale price level.
But this time it was incredibly bad.
The oysters were unlovingly presented with shell remains on the oyster.
We wanted White Fish and Red Tuna half and half, but we couldn't.
Then we ordered the tuna carpaccio and the soy brew was so dominant that you could not taste the poor quality of the tuna anymore.

We had booked this restaurant 3 months in advance when we had planned our latest trip to Tenerife as we had enjoyed it so much last year.
Everything started really well, we had a fabulous table and view. The servers were attentive and we ordered our meal.
Starters came - Iberico ham platter (€30) and garlic prawns (€18) and were absolutely delicious.
The first thing that happened then was that part way through enjoying our starters, the server reached on whilst we were still eating to take back the platter - the kitchen were obviously short of them. For clarity, this was under the prawns we were now enjoying so it wasn’t to clear space on table.
We had then each ordered the beef sirloin steak (€32 each). One of us rare and the other medium rare. When they arrived, they were both blue and cold. The few pitiful vegetables on the side were also cold. We looked to get a servers attention but we seemed to be ignored. We ate some as we we were starving but left steak on plate. When our plates were eventually cleared, the server asked if we were finished - not whether there was a problem or we had enjoyed it - and I told her it was cold. She just shrugged and asked if we wanted desserts. We said no thank you just the bill and we were then left waiting for a good 20 minutes for it to be brought.
Overall incredibly disappointed as we had not only been looking forward to the meal but had previously enjoyed it here. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be returning. I feel that when you are spending the type of level of money they charge, you expect good well cooked food and excellent service - they fell down on both after a promising start.

Every morsel was delicious. The beef wellington was the best I have ever tasted. Cooked to perfection The veal chip was enjoyed by my partner and our friends enjoyed seafood pasta and pasta Alfredo. The waiter recommended an excellent bottle of wine at a reasonable cost and the service was impeccable
This restaurant is expensive and upon seeing the meals I was concerned we may leave hungry however this was not the case. Presentation was beautiful
I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would go back again if ever back this side

Difficulty to get a booking here, but when we did get in we could see why. Management and staff were on the ball from start to finish. Had starters of Percebes, Santona Anchovies, Tuna carpaccio ( highly recommended ) , Crab , stakes , mussels, garlic shrimp, and to finish homemade pistachio and lime ice-cream – sublime - and one of the best Barraquito’s ever.
This restaurant is not cheap, however it has a beautiful setting , great food including a very diverse fish and shell fish offering, and to be honest probably the best service team on the Island, and all of that is worth paying for

We looked forward in having a nice seafood meal by the sea, but alas, it didn't turn out like that.
It started to go wrong when we walked in. We where quite early regarding our reservation, I admit it. But every time this happened in the past at any other restaurant, the response would be what one would expect. Propose another available table, offer some drinks as a wait, or friendly-like indicate the restraurant is full and can't accommodate us yet.
Nope, not here. It seems our hostess' training didn't include Friendliness or Welcoming when she took it. I believe Friendliness and Welcoming have been replaced by Haugthy, Arrogant and Unfriendly in her curriculum. Half the tables where unoccupied, so we where surprised she didn't propose any other. On the contrary, with an air of being bothered by our presence, no suggestion to have a drink first, she become rude, telling us if we don't believe her, we could go and look ourselves, that "our table" was still occupied (what about the multiple empty tables????) and no way she can do anything.
Haven't seen this happen in any place that values being and keeping in business.
The menu is overpriced for what you get. 60 or 70€ pp for a plain grilled fish and some vegetables.
My recco? La Caletta is full of restaurants, with and without Michelin stars, avoid this one at all cost. There are plenty of other choices.

Our experience in La Vieja was simply unforgettable! We were greeted with a warmth and professionalism that made us feel immediately special. The location is charming, with spectacular ocean views that make every moment magical, perfect for a romantic couple’s dinner.

We chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from our hotel and because it was one of the few you could book online. I should have made the effort to pick up the phone and call other restaurants.
The value for money was not good, and the food was mixed. Fish in the ceviche starter was rubbery and overly salty. Also the grouper was swimming in water on the plate. However the tuna tartare starter and cod main were very very good. Service by the staff was good, but for the price I expected better and more consistency across the dishes
