We shared bread, carrots and mushrooms to start with, then my mum had beef stroganoff, and I had duck in raspberry sauce. The food was beautifully presented and very much enjoyed by us both. Service was attentive, and the restaurant is pleasantly, traditionally furnished. More people in the restaurant (we were the only two there) would have given more atmosphere,... More

Very sad as we used to love going to this restaurant but had a very disappointing meal. We were the only people in the restaurant and the food was barely edible. WHAT A SHAME....

Very slow service that they blamed on being busy but there were six other people in when we arrived at 7.45pm. Food very poor, my "chicken in a pot with red wine and herbs" sounded like Coq au vin on the menu but was mostly bones from chicken wings. Our party of six could not wait to leave, I told... More

We were told that the management had changed quite recently which made us a bit suspicious, but since there aren't any special restaurants around Praia da Luz (except in Lagos), we decided to give it a try. The room is not to big and it looks nice with lots of gigantic bottles of wine and wine glasses and the atmosphere... More

Lovely surroundings, shame about the food. Disappointed to say the least. Several of the meals didn't even arrive but were charged on the menu. Duck was dry. Veg arrived after the meal! Chips were given instead of sweet potatoes and when we complained we were told to share the chips with our friends! Couvert is expensive!

Driven past this restaurant a few times and took the plunge without looking at reviews. So glad we did, our food was well presented and good value. Prawns were delicious and the goats cheese tart beautiful. Mains were duck and lamb, absolutely fantastic and followed by a lovely chocolate mousse. Bill came to €79 and that included two large bottles... More

We have been visiting this restaurant for the past 10 years or so, and always loved eating here, and the fun Manuel and his team always laid on (Huge pepper mills, huge brandy glass, tickertape bill in a box, instamatic camera etc etc). When we visited on this occasion, we were surprised to walk straight into an empty table in... More

Great food, helpful service in delightful surroundings, in fact, nothing not to like. Not as busy as it might have been when we went and deserved to be busier.
