Lovely fresh fish, I had sole served with capers whilst my partner had Quiche with salad and chips. Both came out quickly even though it was a very busy Sunday afternoon, my Sole was well cooked but maybe a touch salty? The capers would certainly add to that but maybe a touch too much added during the cooking as well?... More

So tonight my family and I went in to celebrate an occasion that's been blessed on us, thinking we'd have a lovely meal out we were asked to wait 30/40 mins for a table! Because apparently you have to book now! We've come to this place for years and have always enjoyed it and never been told to wait for... More

How bizarre,a restaurant that has gone downhill with every table taken on a Monday night!Maybe this is to do with new owners, revamped menu using more fresh local produce and the redecoration ? Who knows.Booking is advisable. More

My 87 year old Father-in-Law and I were barred from this pub on Tuesday this week. To give some context, we have been regulars for the past ten years, visiting once or twice a week for lunch, and spending thousands of pounds in the process. As a family we have celebrated events there, sometimes with groups of up to twenty... More

Sadly this has been an ongoing problem for quite a while now, where you have felt that you were too important to book and your food order would always be put to the front no matter what bookings or other orders were before yours.Your father in law(and employer) has been rude to all the staff here and we have always politely... The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food well presented and wholesome. It was a shame that many of the dishes showing on the board were 'finished'so I ended up with my third choice which was still good but not what my taste buds had planned for! Lovely surroundings and views of the river. Hoping to go back in... More

Everything is lovely about this pub except beware the attitude of some (leading) staff (see response to previous long review about the 'tea' incident..the customer is maybe not 'always right') and the prices. £5.65 for a glass of spritzer and £4 a pint of bitter. OK in London...but seems a bit heavy in Rowhedge. Food is great but if you're... More

The anchor pub is in a beautiful location next to the river Colne at Rowhedge, the food has always been enjoyable but has now moved up a level to excellent, wonderful flavours and texture. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, our favourite restaurant.

Nice riverside pub with a good selection on the menu. Outside area with a view of the river only spoilt by the smokers!

This has always been one of my favourite riverside lunchtime destinations. Rowhedge is changing and it's becoming more and more difficult to park near this pub, even on a mid-week lunchtime. I only hope that parking improves rather than worsens once the new estate is finished. This pub has a nice, reasonably priced menu with good wines and a gorgeous... More
