Cafe Tortuga is definitely the place to get some work done or plan your next adventure. Relaxed setting by the river with friendly staff, delicious food & drinks, and inviting atmosphere. Worth your patronage!

Tena is very ugly and i wouldn't spent my vacation here but for a lunch or coffeestop cafe Tortuga is very good. They make good hamburgers, tostades, chilli con corne and sandwhich tuna (and more). There a some building activities near the waterside maybe for a nice boulevard in front of the cafe.

I used to come to Cafe Tortuga weekly while in Ecuador. It's a great place to hang out, talk with the friendly staff, eat tasty food, and use the WiFi. The food can be a little bit on the pricey side, relative to the prices at other restaurants in Ecuador, and sometimes the WiFi is a bit slow, but otherwise... More

Good selection of coffee and a nice place to plan your trip ahead. Good selection of books to swap. I'm not so impressed with the food.

Café Tortuga has great quality food, wonderful people working there, and is a great place in general to spend some time on the internet in between jungle time. My favorite is always the amazingly refreshing Charapaté (or "turtle tea", charapa being the Kichwa [and, I'm told, the Achuar/Shuar/Shiwiar] word for turtle). I can't quite figure out the recipe, though guayusa... More

Given the great write up in the travel books we thought this place would be better. Very much a part of the "gringo trail". The juice was relatively expensive for the size and one of the worst in Ecuador. The book exchange looked ok though. Would suggest you go next door to an authentic local cafe where they have excellent... More

I have been visiting Cafe Tortuga regularly past 8 years, sometimes taking my client (foreigners) with me, and never got disappointed. Clean kitchen, pro cooks, very polite staff, all smiles. Good working WiFi. Most of the clients are foreigners. Perfect place to eat something safe.

Healthy fast food options, very fussion, kind of traditional + veggy + minimalistic, with a hint of originality. I loved all the options, went several times, tried different things each time and liked all.

Great cafe in a fun location. Food is excellent, grab a coffee or beer and watch the street activity. Definitely recommend this place in Tena!

Fight on the riverfront is Cafe Tortuga, a favorite foreigner hangout. This small cafe's charm comes from its attentive staff and simple, good food, including sweet and savory crepes, large sandwiches, soups, avocado stuffed with chicken or cheese, and beef chili. Many come for its yummy and filling breakfasts (served from 7 a.M.), While others come to cool off with an iced coffee, fresh fruit juice or homemade iced tea. There's free WiFi and a book exchange too. Monday-Saturday 7 a.M..-7 P.M., Sunday 7 a.M.-1 P.M.
