The tavern is located in proximity of the entrance door of Monticchiello, a nice medieval village near Pienza. With its few places (it is better to reserve), it proposes an elegant room, furnished with taste in typical tuscan style, it is comfortable and familiar. During the beautiful season it is possible to eat in the terrace, enjoying a wonderful sight on Pienza, the Val d'Orcia and the Amiata. The structure, in proximity of the principal access to the village, has been completely restructured from the owner with taste and scrupulous care of the details.

Moreno is an exceptional chef who has a range of classic Tuscan dishes and is inventive and creative with new experiences. We enjoyed the spectacular view of the Val d’Orcia as the sunset from the single table above the historic gateway. Absolute magic, matched only...by the exceptional skills of Moreno, who served us as the kitchen is at the top of the building. Memorable dishes and fine wines.More

Typical tuscan food served in a typical tuscan atmosphere. All the ingredients are there for a great experience, and the ravioli we had were just deliciously fantastic.

My family and I were there visiting last September. We came in at 6:30pm and were seated at a table in the terrace. At the time we were told that food won't be served until 7 but we could order a drink if we like....We ordered a bottle of wine. At 6:50 we were informed that they needed the table for dinner service at 7:00 we were surprise that we were were not informed about this prior to us ordering but we acknowledge that we needed to leave around 7pm. All the people in our party were done except for one that needed to have a sip or two to finish his wine, Instead of waiting one more minute one of the waiters (none of which were waiting at us) decided that the best wait to tell us to please leave was to snap his fingers at my father and telling us that he needed the table for dinner. That was very rude, because we were not told we needed to be out by 7pm until 10 minutes before and quite honestly what are we his servants to snap the finger at us? The behavior is irreprehensible. We are of Latin American decent and non-white I hope this is not the reason we were treated that way, but just in case if you are a person of color please be aware.More

Have been to Osteria la Porta twice before in 2016 and 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Maybe it’s end of season blues for the restaurant but service was ok bur perfunctory. Meals weren’t really tiny. Barley risotto quite bland. Suckling pig very tasty but...served warm at best. Tiramisu and Zuppa Inglese ok but not standout and again very small. So I guess “ok but not standout” sums up our visit.More

Enjoyed our table at the Terrace with panoramic Val d'Orcia views. Our Bistecca Fiorentina was magnificent. Wine chosen was just to the taste of our perfectly cooked steak. Excellent deserts. Thanks to great staff

The experience was fantastic, we've been treaten with so much kindness but the best part of this place is the quality of the dished and the unique terrace in which you can watch the sunset and suddenly becames a romantic atmosphere. Awesome place of Tuscany!

Yes, the restaurant is closed in the afternoon. It's a small place, so do reserve.
