After a two hour hike from Frantiskov nad Ploucnici and a climb to castle ruin Ostry, we needed to replenish our energy with a meal and a good beer. I recall seeing an oriental menu couple of years ago, this time there were choices of 2 soups and about 10 traditional Czech meals available, most of them were crossed off as sold out as it was late afternoon.
We did find a satisfying meal and enjoyed sitting outdoors on the benches with a view of the square. The service was pleasant and the locals gave us tips on how to get to a train station, about 10 minutes walk downhill from here. There is a bus service available directly from this old square to surrounding towns including Decin where we were headed.

I had researched Benesov nad Ploucnici and decided to visits the Chateau complex, knowing full well that the restaurant had changed hands recently and now it as been converted to a Thai restaurant. After a long guided tour in the Chateau, we were looking forward to rest and a nice lunch. We sat outside, a pleasant spot overlooking the square. The waitress came promptly and was very pleasant, the drinks were brought right away, we chose some Thai menu and my husband had svickova, a Czech specialty. We were all happy with the taste, did not have to wait long for food to arrive.
