This is tough to rate. It's a nice place - nice location, nice decor, nice staff. It makes for an overall nice evening. However the food is so-so and it's expensive (for Mexican food). I had carnitas ($22) which was okay - just lacking flavor. The rice was basically tasteless and the black beans were dried out mush. I didn't... More

The fresh guacamole was good (not out of this world, but you won't be disappointed) and the pork carnitas were also good (4 out of 5). The La Suprema Margarita was just OK (3 of 5). I'd order another but it's not a "oh my gosh you've got to have their margarita". Service was good and quick, but I would... More

Great view of the harbor. Excellent food and service. Always a good idea to have reservations - but you should be able to get in if you have a small group (2). Lots of specialty items, drinks are very good, and the guacamole is outstanding. Grew up in San Diego and this is the one of two restaurants that we... More

Lots of light during the day, great views just like everywhere else in National Harbor, and attentive wait staff for our two large tables, well done folks. Portion sizes are reasonable, which is great for Mexican b/c often they can be really overbearing and since a substantial % of Americans are obese, this is good! Yes the prices are on... More

The food and drinks were delicious at this restaurant. It's very busy, but you can get seated quickly. Service was good and the pitcher of water greatly appreciated. The menu has a great variety of options. Quesadillas are extremely good.

Was not impressed with the staff. Felt like they didn't wanted to service there customers. Food less than average. Way over priced for the quality of food.

Our server was very attentive and the food was good. They give you some chips and salsa, but we had also ordered the Nachos with Cheese and Beef which were very good. The chips with the nachos were thicker which allowed you to pick up the toppings easily. I had the Carnitas, the meat was good but I didn't care... More

It's awesome. Nothing in this area is inexpensive. But the food here is so good it makes up for the price.

Came here for lunch with a friend; we had been to other Rosas (namely in DC) and wanted to try this one out. Unfortunately, it was a little too chilly to sit outside on their patio. Warm tortilla chips and salsa are complimentary as you peruse the menu, which includes your standard Mexican fare. They don't stray too far from... More

Description
In 1984, Rosa Mexicano set a new standard for Mexican cuisine when it first opened on the upper east side of New York City. Playing a leading role in defining what was then a "new" cuisine to American diners, Rosa Mexicano delivers authentic Mexican cooking in an accessible, stylishly festive atmosphere. Rosa Mexicano's menu features a range of award-winning signature dishes, including our Guacamole en Molcajete, in a traditional lava rock mortar. Described by Time Out New York as "green ecstasy in a stone bowl," it is prepared table side and served with house made chips, warm corn tortillas and condiment salsas. Rosa Mexicano is also known for the Frozen Pomegranate Margarita, as well as the stylish and festive ambiance that includes an illuminated water wall.
