We came for Sunday lunch right when they opened at 11:30. If you’re lucky, you can get a window view with a look across the river. I got the Budin de Pollo, which was described to me as a Mexican lasagna, and that was an...More

Seriously, this is the best thing I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant! Slow cooked, falling off the bone but also crispy. That, plus the guacamole, I could eat it every day. They also have good happy hour specials for drinks.

The guacamole is made fresh at your table. The salsa is delicious with just the right amount of heat. I had the enchiladas mole and would definitely have it again.

This places seems family run and that usually means a quality product. Fresh salsa and chips are continually topped up at your booth. The menu is in both languages which also adds to the ambience. I would definitely come have dinner here again. Prices were...More

Man have they fallen a long way since the original NYC locations. Even the Guacamole, meh. My entree was Tres Enchiladas, three sad, cold little corn tortillas bathed in a different bad sauce, with barely any meat. Three of us each had entrees around $24,...More

We went here for a quick lunch one day and was not disappointed. My husband ordered the guacamole that was made fresh at the table and he LOVED it! The service was good and the atmosphere was fun!

This place is awesome! Seated us sooner than expected. Sat on patio on Saturday night and listened to the band playing in the nearby entertainment area. Lots of activity and just a lot of fun!! Food was amazing!! Fish tacos were incredible. One of the...More

Very crowded, tables too close, therefore service was slow. Seemed that there was a couple of parties going on. Food was excellent. I strongly recommend the table-side prepared guacamole. Like most Mexican restaurants, Rosa had an elaborate vegetarian menu. Our waiter was particularly sensitive to...More

We really were not hungry when we went in for drinks. We were promptly seated on the patio in the back in a prime people-watching spot and overlooking the Air Force Band's location. We had a couple of drinks and a couple of pots of...More

We were here with a rather large group. The food and service were excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the location is terrific! The stand-out was the assorted appetizers. Well worth the visit!

Description
In 1984, Rosa Mexicano set a new standard for Mexican cuisine when it first opened on the upper east side of New York City. Playing a leading role in defining what was then a "new" cuisine to American diners, Rosa Mexicano delivers authentic Mexican cooking in an accessible, stylishly festive atmosphere. Rosa Mexicano's menu features a range of award-winning signature dishes, including our Guacamole en Molcajete, in a traditional lava rock mortar. Described by Time Out New York as "green ecstasy in a stone bowl," it is prepared table side and served with house made chips, warm corn tortillas and condiment salsas. Rosa Mexicano is also known for the Frozen Pomegranate Margarita, as well as the stylish and festive ambiance that includes an illuminated water wall.
