How is Restaurant Karoline rated?

Having had diner in 2022 we were quite excited to visit the restaurant again . The service was good , the food definitely not. The fish tasteless, the gnocchi cold and soaky, the beef ok but the sides not. So overall we were really disappointed...and would better have chosen any other restaurant for this evening . The pricing was far above you’ll get. The restaurant is a real nice one; but we haven’t had a worse diner on our trip to Norway. We are sorry for the decline of quality .More

Expensive, tiny servings

Ordered fish soup and fish/chips. The fish soup tasted like Béarnaise sauce and the cod was filled with bones. Fish and chips was a handfull of fries and 3 tiny fish sticks. 220NOK per plate.

Authentic and rustic atmosphere

we sat at a beautiful windowed table overlooking the fjord. The restaurant exudes atmosphere, nice friendly staff and good food.

Super!

Super service, super food, super view! The food was amazing and the kids (3y + 8m) got everything they needed for a good experience. Such a lovely dinner for everyone.

Good to come and try everything 🙂

Very nice restaurant with good service and tasty food. We had a duck, lam and lots of soup. Nice atmosphere and 1 strange waiter who we loved 😜

Amazing view

The location is wonderful and the cuisine is delicious. We had fish, very well cooked and served. Plus a starter with local cheese, salmon, and bacon. Reservation is suggested because the place is kind of popular.

Hidden gem in Lofoten

We had dinner on Christmas Day. Traditional Norwegian menu but we chose to eat the entrecôte. We got the appetizer with the local ingredients. Everything amazing!

Good restaurant in an attractive place

We had a registration, because the restaurant is very popular. The menu is very diverse. I chose the fish soup and whale, which were excellent. Also the dessert with meringue was delicious. Really a place to recommend.

Restaurant closed, but café open

The restaurant was closed when we came here but the café/shop was open and they have a lunch menu. Absolutely try the creamy fish soup (made from the cod they catch on their fishing trips)! The spices used in the soup made it a culinary...adventure and everything comes with local bread and butter. The grilled cheese with sweet spiced mustard is also excellent. The shop is located in an old wooden fishing house with antique furniture. The café's seating rooms overlook the bay and mountains and is very cozy and romantic. Lovely place to have lunch.More

Best in Lofoten

Not so good burger

Overall fine restaurant really polite waiters, but my burger was tasteless, wasn’t the best but atleast I left with no hunger left. The prices were up to the sky, but so are in all the restaurants in Norway.. Be aware: Shrimps in this restaurant are...served not peeled at all.More
