Had the most amazing afternoon tea! Food and presentation was fantastic! Well worth the slightly higher cost than general afternoon tea elsewhere. Good range of items and although I love cake, I liked the fact this afternoon tea wasn't swamped with a load of sickly cakes. It was so big, not one of us could finish and the rest came... More

Visited with grandchildren for Sunday lunch. We hadn't booked but after a short wait in cosy bar we were given a table. The girls were delighted by the visit from Santa and snowman ,keeping their sweets for after lunch. There was also face painting and balloon modelling. We opted for small carvery, having been before,we knew how big the portions were.... More

A fun pub with a fine spirit. Gin, actually. This sprawling hostelry has its own distillery tucked away in a courtyard. But there's no end to the surprises. There's a London double-decker bus in the garden in which you can, apparently, sleep. There's a riding school and steam railway on the doorstep. The food is served in trencherman sizes. Oh,... More

Visited with friends after being recommended. There's al dente and theres raw!!!! knife wouldn't cut through vegetables, suet crust had been microwaved dried out and tasteless .The Yorkshire puddings were good but contents dry and under cooked no additional gravy offered.Less quantity and better quality. Staff friendly and doing their best. Would never recommend this place to anyone, needless to... More

Don't be put off by the large numbers of cars in the car park. The service is very friendly and quick. The food was piping hot and very tasty. Beware of the giant yourkshire pudding it is enormous

This is a busy and very popular Sunday lunch venue, I've been many times and always busy. Simple reason there's a very good choice on menu, prices are decent, food is of very good standard, portions are very very generous. The atmosphere is busy but relaxing in a very rural setting but only 10-15 out of town. I can't really... More

I recently visited with my boyfriend and his parents for steak night which runs every Monday and Tuesday between 6 and 9. 24.95 entitles you to three courses for 2 people which works out £5 per course which in my opinion is truly value for money. Not only that but the food is absolutely gorgeous and imaculately presented. There is... More

Popped in for Sunday lunch. Very nice setting and friendly service. We all chose the pork dinner and were very pleased with the portions. We asked for crackling, apple sauce and extra gravy and all arrived with a smile from the waitress. Although the food was nice, I would have enjoyed it more if it had been a little hotter.
