My wife and I stopped here for dinner on our way to Pickering. The staff were friendly & accommodating and the pub had a good beer selection. I was recommended a local porter that was lovely. We both had sausage sandwiches from the lunch menu that were very tasty. Would definitely go there again.

On a day out to Malton we called into the Royal Oak having seen good reviews on Tripadvisor. We arrived at about 12.30 pm and ordered drinks whilst we studied the extensive menu. I chose the Gammon, chips, salad etc which was brilliant. As a 70 year old I can say that I have consumed some gammon in my time... More

Lovely cosy pub with friendly staff & tasty food. We had the Hunters Chicken which was delicious - a generous sized meal, beautifully cooked & delivered roasting hot to the table. This place has a really nice atmosphere & we will be visiting again.

This is a lovely country pub, and the pies are just great, homemade and very tasty. Nice, friendly atmosphere. Beer garden at the rear is away from any traffic, so a relaxing place to sit for a drink and/or food.

Ian is a credit to the royal oak. Nothing is too much trouble with excellent food to match. We are so lucky to have Ian and the oak in our village.

Stopped off here for a drink. Decided to eat here as well. The waitress was extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I didn't want a main course so had a starter and a side of hand cut chips. The chips were delicious. My husband had the gammon which was also very good indeed. We would definitely return when...
