Friendly pub with good quality pub grub presented in an attractive way. The chips are lovely and portion sizes are good. The decor is a bit dull and dated and it could do with freshening up but the service (I went on a Saturday) was really friendly so that and the chips made up for the dull atmosphere.

visited today for lunch. we ordered fish chips and peas, service wasn't up to much staff seemed to slap our lunch onto the table with little interaction. The food looked appetizing apart from the fish being dumped on top of the chips.squeezed some lemon onto my fish and put salt/ vinegar on my chips . Ate my first chip which... More

When I reviewed this pub in May this year I said that it had deteriorated since last year; but over the summer it has brought itself back to its previous standard or perhaps to something even better - the deterioration seems to have been a short term glitch over two or three weeks in May - and I've eaten there... Good quick service with reasonable priced drinks. Place is very much like the wetherspoon chain. Enjoyed a drink in here but some of the locals were quite foul and loud mouthed so moved on.

My previous review of this pub said breakfast was excellent. I came home at the beginning of April after being awat for four months, and naturally went here for breakfast. It was awful - everything overcooked and very stodgy. I thought probably this was just a one-off, so tried it again a week later - unfortunately the breakfast was just... More

Visited The Maskery on a lunchtime for a quick bite to eat, and ordered off the Light Bite menu. Scampi, chips and peas for £2.99 superb value and terrific food!! Will definitely be popping in again.
