We were expecting much more from this restaurant, considering that it is listed as the second best restaurant in Pescocostanzo. We had the bad idea of ordering lamb chops. They were giant chops, we couldn't believe that was lamb; meat was very chewy and fat. Starters were very poor either. Service is slow and not really friendly. Definitely not recommended.

An absolutely magnificent feast for lunch, delivered with great charm at a very reasonable prices. We've eaten many fine meals over many years in many regions of Italy and this was unequivocally one of the very best. Exceptional quality of antipasti, even by comparison with the many other fine restaurants in this region, and even more exceptional quality in the... More

After 2 days of touring the lovely Abruzzo region, yet forgetting that lunch time in Italian restaurants is usually over around 14:00 and overcoming hunger with a plain sandwich in a village bar, we made sure to arrive at Frati's by 13:00. The very friendly restaurant owner, aided by an english speaking passing through Italian actress, spoiled us with delicious... More

Over the years we have eaten at dozens of restaurants all over Italy, from Venice to Agrigento and for us, Ristorante Tre Fratti is the best, without question. We were grew up eating authentic Italian cuisine that was lovingly prepared by Italian mothers and grandmothers. This restaurant offers that type of very high quality Italian cuisine and in generous quantities,... More

What more can I say? The food here is fabulous. A combination of subtle flavours and bravura cooking. When I first saw "chocolate flavoured" pasta on the menu I was slightly suspicious, but was reassured by the charming owner that I would like it. He was spot on... it was extraordinary! Accompanied by a beautifully creamy sauce, the dish was... More

As we are making it our mission to try out the many towns and village restaurants within a comfortable drive from Villa di Stelle, it was Pescocostanzo today. We were recommended the restaurant by a local person. The decor is simple and light with vaulted ceilings. The pasta (which we eat a lot of here) was one of the most... More

I've had some of the best pasta of my life (and I'm Italian). Friendly service, and good wine, but the fresh pasta with pecorino won the day.

A must see town in the mountain region ( Maiella) of Abruzzo. We had lunch at great little spot called Ristorante Frati. I recommend the pasta made in house using an old ancient method called e la chitarra for the first plate and the grilled lamb and sausage on real coals.. They also have 7 rooms for rent and would... Limitation of this site is that can only score average or very good, and this was somewhere in between! Great antipasti and pasta(mixed cured meats and excellent cheeses, local pasta with truffles and with a courgette puree), but the meat course simply comprised huge quantities of meat which we found offputting (lamb chops and beef pieces with rucola). In Abruzzo,... More
