A relatively small tavern in the centre of Peyia village. Nice personnel, fast service, traditional Cypriot menu. My lamb chops were excellent, my wife's grilled chicken was average. Rose house fine was very good. Overall impression quite positive. Would go there again.

We ate here during our holiday in Coral Bay (Aug 2016) The food was good and very large portions.... The owner and staff are, as you expect of Cypriot people, pleasing and welcoming. The food is reasonably priced, considering the portions. You can tell its a good place as the locals travel to eat here. I had the suckling pig....with... More

Stayed in Peyia and researched places to go beforehand... Peyia Tavern was top of our list. Had the meze and was unfortunately a little underwhelmed... quality of the dishes fine but as suggested in a previous review... I think the scale of the meze menu has been cut back in recent times. I have had much better meze experiences in... More

OMG this place is fantastic. It's true about the 'never judge a restaurant by its outside, as we might not have noticed this place and walked right past it had we not looked it up beforehand. We wanted a traditional Cypriot Meze experience and that is exactly what we got. We arrived by accident before they were open but the... More

Nice traditional taverna. Been going to this place for years and whilst the food is usually good have noticed that the number of dishes in the meze has gradually decreased. Also some of the drinks are a bit on the pricey side compared to places nearby. Worth a visit though

Ate here on the penultimate day of our holiday..wish we had found it sooner. Excellent food (small menu so you know it's all fresh) but far too much to eat. One main course with salad, dips and chips plenty for 2 people. Local wine in carafe fairly awful..but just as good as the bottled stuff costing twice the price. Waiters... More

Excellent village salad, the tastiest I've had. The waiters are walking menus and it is meat based with no fish available. Meats are good and very plentiful. A meze is a feast and probably too much for many people. Staff friendly with good service. It gets very busy and if you want to sit outside you need to book. Excellent... More

We were recommended to visit here and so one evening we went as a family with kids aged 15,13 and 10. We sat on the exterior seating and were given our drinks by very friendly staff. There wasn't a menu rather the waiter told us what was on offer which was a range of local dishes. To begin with they... More

Description
“Peyia Tavern” is a family restaurant and is highly recommended, here you will have the opportunity to sample the “Traditional Special Meat Meze”, great dish for the meat lovers. The meat is cooked in the traditional Cypriot way (on the charcoal). The Special Meze is served one dish at a time by the Taverna staff which are family members. Be careful not to over face yourself with the bread, salad, dips and pourgouri (traditional couscous) which is served as an appetiser prior to the meat dishes. Also the taverna serves traditional dishes like "Halloumi", "Sieftalia" and "Stifado".
