The food was very good and the welcome and service more so. Quite old school cooking but done well. Not really cheap for Luz but worth a visit.

We came here on our last night for a special treat, and were not disappointed. It's a tiny place with a big heart; service and food equally excellent and delivered with passion. We had the chef's couvert for starter. An amazing 5 course tasting starter...of gazpacho with home made bread and mozzarella and beef tomato, Portabello mushrooms stuffed with brie, Melon balls in port, prawn and papaya cocktail, ending with mussels with a cheese and hollandaise gratin. Wow! every dish a winner at an unbelievably cheap price for what you get. We were pretty full, but I'd ordered the tomahawk steak for main.....It was the biggest hunk of steak I'd ever seen, and it came with a nice ratatouille, green beans, fried potatoes and a hollandaise sauce. Amazing. I tried my best to finish it but I would've needed someone to carry me home. We had a couple of bottles of the house red, which was again delicious, smooth and full bodied. We couldn't face dessert though. Hearty thanks to the team for a really special meal to end a great holiday.More

Visited twice during a 2 week holiday on both occasions the food and service was excellent. The couvert, "chef's recommendation" is outstanding value and consisted of 3 or 4 courses.. portobello mushroom with brie, mussels with cheese/hollandaise sauce & super tasty gazpacho were just some...of the highlights. The mains of prawn risotto, rack of lamb and tomahawk steak were delicious and cooked to perfection according to each diner's preference. Service was helpful, professional and friendly. Don't hesitate to visit bit be warned, the main courses are very, very generous!More

Fortunately, we had read the TA reviews before booking this restaurant.......yes, it isn't in the best location but you forget all about that as soon as you walk through the door. The menu is extremely tempting and very different from most other restaurants, and we...were both delighted with our starter choices as well as the extra surprises. We pre-ordered the lobster Thermidor which was absolutely delicious. The wine list was extensive, from reasonably priced house wine to the more expensive. All the staff were very friendly and attentive, and this made for a lovely ambience. Thankyou, we would definitely return for another great experience.More

We reserved a table purely on the TA rating but on arrival we found ourselves in a somewhat down at heel area. The restaurant did not stand out and we thinking of looking for somewhere else, but fortunately the door opened and we could not...retreat. Inside was no better than outside and a tv was on (why) At that stage the menus arrived and the game changed; the meal we had was close to fine dining and a definite recommend. The place is tiny, suggest you book, and ignore the surrounds.More

This is without doubt the best restaurant in Luz. A fabulous feast of stuffed crab, beef Wellington, steamed turbot, pork dijonaisse and honey duck, with a lovely amuse bouche to start. Sergio, Vitor and the team know how to cook and look after you! Can’t...recommend this restaurant enough.More

Ate twice during stay. Both times meal was great and the best 2 meals had in Luz. For a restaurant in a small holiday resort worth 5 stars. For a major city with more competition perhaps 4 stars but then you'd be paying a lot...more. Booking essential as very small. On both occasions we got a few delicious complimentary tasters thrown in at the start. Not sure if that is routine but they were terrific. Cost about 60 pounds for two including bottle of wine. I thought very good value.More

I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time as friends rave about it. A friend stayed and asked to take us out for seafood so I emailed the restaurant to make a booking for the 5 of us and order Lobster...in advance. Sergio welcomed us and we felt so relaxed. We ordered some starters of clams and prawns and oysters. We received 2 amuse Buse dishes and they were taste sensations of mussels and gazpacho some caprese salad and olives all beautifully present. The clams were so delicious we ordered 2 more plates. Our lobsters were sublime. I had grilled my son had Thermidor and it was so yummy. We had the best night. This is definitely the most high end quality meal we have ever been served in Luz and we have been coming here for 8 years. It’s nothing to look at from the outside but lovely and clean and aircon with fans made the atmosphere very conducive to a top meal. We have booked for next week and look forward to trying the meat dishes on the menu.More

They are very accommodating and may already have this option on menu, I suggest you phone them in advance to be sure.

All tables are book able but as the restaurant is small it would be best to book as early as possible direct with the restaurant
