El Muelle was on the must do list for our Andalucia trip and was also recommended by our accommodation. We were so happy to snag a table for lunch. The dining area is attractive. Service was slow. But, the food was the problem. The salmon...was undercooked, fishy and mushy. The duck confit was tough. The veggies were so garlicky as to be inedible. The fried shrimp were ok. Wow, what a disappointment! Cannot recommend.More

This restaurant is very special. Don't ask for a menu, rather allow the owner Frank to describe all the dishes. Wonderful Spanish food, with excellent specialities like confit pigeon legs, delicious meats, great fish. The clientele is a mixture of locals and visitors. The terrace...is part of the old railway station, and occasionally trains meander past with a cheerful hoot. We have been there many times over recent years, and have never been disappointed.More

Who would’ve thought we would find such an amazing restaurant in a railway station! Great service with delicious wine and food. It was so good we are going back tomorrow night! And such a kind host. Dankjewel!!

Fabulous! We caught Mr Henderson’s Railway from Algeciras and chose to stop at Arriate, where we had pre-booked El Muelle. Frank, the owner was a delightful host and took us through the menu, making suggestions as to choices and quantities. The food was delicious! Beautifully...presented and served by the team. Would absolutely recommend and despite remote location, will definitely return!More

Last minute decision for a Christmas break to the area. Happily a reservation was still available. A warm welcome as usual from the owner. Then the feast began and it didn't disappoint. I will let the photos do the talking. Thanks once again for a...great experience.More

On arrival at the Restaurant which is the old railway Station at Arriate you are greeted warmly and there is a small courtyard outside to sit and enjoy a pre meal drink in the sun. Once seated in the Restaurant you are personally greeted by...The Owner called Frank. It is immediately obvious that Frank is totally dedicated to giving you the best experience and he is passionate about his Restaurant. For each course he will explain every option on the menu giving you information about each dish. He will then give you time to decide what to order before returning for your choice. He makes it clear that there is no pressure. You can order anything from a few items to share or more if you prefer. The Restaurant has about 8 tables. It is tastefully decorated, light and airy. Your food is then served to you before moving on to the same procedure for the next course. The service is prompt, efficient and very polite. Now for the best part. The food you are served is absolutely fantastic. The flavour combinations are unbelievable and with each plate you just don't want it to end. We are seriously talking high quality fine dining here. I cannot praise it highly enough. We were left feeling that we had not just come here to eat a meal but rather had an all round amazing experience. I was recommended to this place and it is out in the countryside in a place where you may never find it. Even if you were headed for Arriate at the end of the road you could very easily drive past what you think is a railway station. If you read this review and enjoy the experience Shhh don't tell everyone.More

Exceptional food and service. The quality of food and the uniqueness of the menu made for an amazing evening. The owner explained the menu and we chose starters first, then once we had eaten he asked what we preferred for mains.

I know this lovely restaurant very well and have visited with friends and family over many years. Frank is always the most delightful and considerate of hosts. He explains the menu in detail and makes suggestions appropriate to your party . The restaurant is an...old train station and is light, airy and comfortable. Children and old ladies ! made very welcome. The food is locally sourced, beautifully presented and delicious. At my recent party to say farewell to old friends Frank excelled himself with amazing food which was acclaimed by all. Thank you Frank.More

Returned to dine here with a group having last been here in 2021. Nothing changes - it is still superb! Outstanding menu with locally sourced ingredients that cannot be faulted. Wines are similarly excellent, with the house red wine being better than the top end...wines in many other restaurants. If you are staying in Ronda or the surrounding area then El Muelle is not to be missed.More

Based on previous reviews and a recommendation from our villa, we booked a table. Frank took us through the starter options (so many it was hard to remember then all!) and we opted to share a grilled goats cheese salad, which was divine! We follows...this up with a stuffed squid which was equally delicious, accompanied by an inexpensive but lovely white wine. We shared two desserts, both a delicious. Bill was very reasonable and have booked again for later in the week. Highly recommended!More

We visited again this year, twice. Frank and has team produce stellar food, Spanish cooking at its best with some twists. This place has style, presentational flair and wonderful food. Great salads (including Frank's 'birthday cake'), superb prawns in garlic or brick pastry, artichokes with...duck liver, great beef, especially good pork, excellent fish, and the memorable sorbet with Campari. This restaurant is an experience not to be missed. It is on a small railway station, with wonderful views occasionally punctuated by a passing train. We love the placeMore

imaginative menu in unique setting , its beside a railway line , not the usual industrial view, lookout to mountains . service from owner Frank and all staff exceptional - range of language spoken impressive. Menu description alone worth the visit . no trouble to...adjust and accommodate tastes. jamon carved by hand , someone does this and only this ...its that good plate of jamon was exceptional every dish was fresh , and full of flavour , great emphasis on local ingredients and in season. the wine we ordered was not available , rather than simply give an alternative we were asked why we made our initial choice , to enable an understanding and offer a suitable alternative ...impressive service to take such time reservation essential as rightly popularMore
