I like this restaurant and the owner. The food is tasty. Clams and pork excellent. Atmosphere was nice, sat outside. Service really good at first but as the restaurant filled became more patchy! Getting the bill was a real fight, in the end had to go in and wait to pay. We went back another day and same story. Would... More

Just arrived home after our visit to Dom Rodrigo. When 8 of us turn up to a small place it can be a little daunting but the owner and staff were so welcoming and accommodating towards us. 4 of our party had fish dishes including sea bream and corvina, whilst the rest of us went for meat (Pork and cockles... The owner Antonio is always very pleased to see you and extends a warm welcome. We have never been disappointed with any meal that we have eaten here and always try something different from the extensive menu. The price is reasonable in a lovely country location

We discovered this small restaurant in Castro Marin when driving from Malhao to Altura. And it was one of our best discoveries during our Portugal trip. We ate a starter (a plate with tomatoes and herbs and a plate with sardines), main course (2 specials of the day (pork)), one dessert and two glasses of wine and this for only... More

A warm welcome awaits at this traditional Restaurant, Dom Rodrigo. The staff are always very helpful and attentive and are only too happy to suggest new dishes for you to try. The food is a wonderful mix of traditional Portuguese and European dishes. This is one of my favourite places to eat.

It is quite difficult to get excited about eating out in the Eastern Algarve. Menus tend to be much the same and the best you can expect is quality produce simply cooked, with an increased price tag for a good location. Dom Rodrigo offers more interesting Portuguese home cooking with great produce and friendly service. In winter, when we have... More

The service was nice and the fish was fresh. Had to go to Altura in order to pay because they don't accept payment cards??? Not good

Very attentive staff, nothing too much trouble. Visited with friends who had not been before, thankfully they were very impressed. The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. We had chilled white wine and a nice touch of chilled wine glasses. A really wonderful hidden treasure.

We visit Dom Rods regularly when we visit the Algarve. Good traditional Portuguese food, friendly service and excellent value for money. The open fire is very welcome on those cold winter nights!

Got to know the restaurant through Tripadvisor review, and made an adventure to discover it's location. Paid a visit with my family and worth every cent, the food is the most traditional you can get in a restaurant, the staff is extremely friendly and the bill at the end is pleasant. Ask the 'Bochechas de porco' dish and you'll not... More
