This is our second visit for food and we were impressed again. I had Cornish Crab Linguine followed by Minted Strawberries with Pimms jelly, cucumber sorbet, lime cream and elderflower meringue which was really refreshing. The staff are friendly and courteous and the pub is...More

Very friendly pub with plenty of space inside and courtyard area outside. Dog friendly too. Plenty of atmosphere in old stone building. Beer was very good, lunch was good but not quite up to the standards of some other pubs in this area.

We walked here for lunch and were not disappointed. Under recently changed ownership the menu has improved and has flair as well as great flavours. Very friendly service and dogs welcome. The puddings were simply delicious and beautifully presented. We will be back!

Well, the last time we went, the menu was for the whole day, I believe, and we had a 'main' meal as a treat. There are usually some lighter things to choose, or starters-as-mains type choices, and I'm pretty sure there were... More

Nestled in a tranquil, rural setting, just a few miles south-west of Tetbury, the Royal Oak at Leighterton is surrounded by rolling countryside and picturesque Cotswold villages. Badminton, Highgrove House, Westonbirt Arboretum, the Cotswold Way and Monarch's Way are all within a stone's throw, while Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham are just a short drive away. The Royal Oak is the ultimate country inn, serving fabulous locally sourced food, good wine, well-kept ales and warm hospitality. The beautiful Grade II listed building underwent an eight-month renovation, which saw it stripped back and carefully restored, ensuring it stayed faithful to its origins. With a true Cotswold village inn atmosphere, the Royal Oak offers roaring log fires in winter, and a pretty walled garden for outdoor dining in summer. When it comes to food, the kitchen crafts classic dishes and innovative specials using seasonal, local and regional ingredients wherever possible. Whether you're looking for a three-course dinner, simple bar meal, or a relaxing drink, the Royal Oak is sure to offer you a warm welcome in an idyllic country setting. Booking is advisable for weekends and large groups.
