My husband said that Thomas’s Place is what you think of when you dream about a typical Greek Taverna; wonderful food, great atmosphere and all reasonably priced. The ambience is what struck us most here. Book ahead to get a prime table on the waters’ edge.

We landed in Thomas’s Place based on a local recommendation after discovering the Durrell house was already closed for the season (purpose of the visit). We were anyway not disappointed. Thomas’s Place was a lovely setting, serving lovingly prepared food served with a warm smile. Every table was also filled that evening, creating a pleasant, buzzy atmosphere. You could tell that the restaurant took pride in its offer and service was excellent. Fish soup, souvlaki, Greek salad, Baklava - all classic dishes done well. There are also many adorable, healthy, well-behaved local beach cats to entertain you as a bonus!

We ate here for dinner on 2 occassions (went back because it was so nice the first time). The food across all courses was so yummy. It was really appreciated being asked between courses if we wanted a break so we could have a more leisurely meal and not feel rushed in any way. Restaurant felt really safe in terms of hygiene, which is so important right now. The Kumquat liquer at the end was surprisingly tasty!

We gave this place a three only because the view was so outstanding. Located right on the rocky Beach overlooking a fantastic babe filled with multimillion dollar yards. Unfortunately as Greek speaking individuals we were treated quite currently by the host and the waiters. They seem to be more interested in what is perceived to be the high paying foreign tourists. The food was average at Best in certainly for most Greeks would be considered below average. We had the mixed seafood platter and the mixed heat grill. This dinner would not pass muster if it were served in Athens. Prices were inflated to accommodate the location and likely individuals who were looking more for the ambience rather than the quality of their meal. You are looking for a nice setting and an average meal with a pseudo Greek menu this could be for you

What a superb restaurant, accommodating, friendly staff served by the great man himself, we were made to feel so special, despite not many at our hotel this restaurant was packed ( an excellent sign)the starters were generous and delicious , our mains were fresh, hot and tasty. We opted for steak purely because we saw another couples food and it looked to die for. Stuffed to capacity we had a dessert of baklava. It being end of season we were not hopeful as most other restaurants were low on supplies. I was ecstatic when it came out, a huge portion of nutty sweet deliciousness. We couldn't have ended our holiday with a more memorable meal. We cannot wait to return on our next visit to Corfu.

Spent a few times at Thomas' Place. In an idyllic location right on the shore with a great varied menu and value for money. The staff are wonderful. Always friendly and have a genuine conversation with you. A call out for Mario and Hector. Superb and will definitely be back.

One of our favourite restaurants on Kalami beach. Always very friendly if not a little too busy. It did feel as though they were cramming as many people in as possible at times. 3 out of 4 visits the food was really good and good value. I loved the sea bream there very fresh and cooked to perfection. We also had the standard Greek dips sardines and carbonara. On the night it was even busier my fish soup wasn’t good and I had waited 45 mins to be served then 45 mins again for the main which sadly as a vegetarian risotto was also not good. I think they turn over too many tables but perhaps we must blame a short season for that….although I didn’t notice It in many of the other restaurants in the area. Other than that as said usually very good food and very friendly

Fantastic location owner and staff are a delight thoroughly enjoyed our meal in such a idyllic setting . We ate traditional but also meat and fish dishes, veg is overcooked but I think that might be a Greek thing . Going back again in a few days

This restaurant is great for service, food, drinks located on the beach, plenty of sun beds, staff very friendly with excellent service. The food variety and quality is second to none, far outpacing the other restaurants in the area. Well recommended.

Idyllic location next to the sea, great service and good Greek food. I would definitely recommend asking what fresh fish they have for today, as this is what they cook best. We had an amazing grilled octopus there (however the greens which came with it were overcooked). Their moussaka isn't really great, as the béchamel sauce on top was too thick and tasted of flour. Their tzatziki isn't great either, as it seemed to contain mayonnaise. Overall, great service and location!

The food was very poor. Cheese pie starters were disappointing compared to others on our travels (more like greasy spring rolls), and the ‘Greek Salad’ arrived undressed (why?). The wine is ‘local’ and served in Karaffe. Drinkable (just). No local bottled wines were available, which is a shame because they are underrated and amazing. Both mains (sea bass and lamb kleftiko) were dry and overcooked (see photo’s). We left after taking several mouthfuls of the mains and offered to pay the whole bill. We explained why we were leaving and the bill was reduced by half with apologies from the manager, We have been to Kalami several times previous and only once eaten at Thomas’ Place four years ago, and thought we’d see how it was now . Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Its true that the menu is much cheaper than other local alternatives and I guess you get what you pay for. Even though, I would expect the standard to be at least edible. The location is superb, but there are other tavernas with the same very close by, almost next door. On the whole a hugely disappointing experience. Probably an ok stop for a beer at lunchtime though.

This is not generally our favourite taverna in Kalami and in the past we have been left disappointed by the food and service given how other rave about it. However, this year we were we very pleased when we visited for a late lunch. The food was very nice and the service was much improved. Hygenie was good, with cleaning and sanitiser available.

Sitting right on the beach, over looking the beautiful cove of Kalami, staff cannot do enough for you. Helpful & friendly they are all really nice. Shout out to Thomas’ daughter. Tables under a canopy or sprawled out under the sky placed on stones as you look at the view across to Albania, reddened by the setting sun. Beautiful. Sea food & Greek a decent selection including some Corfu dishes. Menu section titled “Fresh fish” with an asterisk on a few items *.....from frozen”. Honest but contradictory. Drinks adequate. Light lagers & table wines. As usual we select a mix to share. Relaxed atmosphere, the food arrives in good time and tasted really good. Mussels, grilled sardines, lamb Kleftiko, spanokopita bakes (bit watery) stuffed peppers, sea food pasta (nothing special), Greek salad (of course) & courgette fritters. Yum. All round delighted. The people & place made Thomas’ place and they make full use of what they have.

We have had three meals at Thomas’ Kalami. All three times delicious. The staff are so helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We had a meze of starters which was delicious. The beef and rice on the second night was tasty. The third night we had sea bream and potatoes. The potatoes were soft herby and scrumptious. We would definitely go again. We tried a different restaurant tonight mentioning no names but will be back with Thomas tomorrow 😀

Anyone who raves about this restaurant doesnt know good food. They run a two tier system fawning over the regulars and pretty much ignoring others. Garlic bread was two pieces of sliced bread baked feta was soggy in tin foil. 2nd course took 43 mins arrived cold lamb stew like dog food chicken under cooked. The ignored us as we complained about the wait didnt get desert menu or asked if we wanted coffee. Asked for bill 60 euros left money walked out could have been invisible. Don't waste your time unless having the Maitre D's tongue up yer jacksie is more important than good grub!!
