Stopped here on a Saturday evening for some food and drinks with friends. Very warm welcome by the guys behind the bar. Very good selection of drinks behind the bar. The food meun is on the small size and very little choice. The food was overpriced for what we had and felt it was rushed out of the kitchen as one of the main courses came out with the starters, this was then taken back into the kitchen and hot held.

Although we are not locals and have to get 2 buses to get to One Over the Ait this was our 4th visit. The former visits have been very good however this time we had some issues. The food was far from satisfactory. There should have been toast with Parfait, but we got just plain bread. The Made in Hackney Vegan Burger was on the one hand a bit insipid but at the same time very spicy. Whilst I am not allergic to species and they do not kill me I do not like them them. As there was no mention of spiciness on the menu I ordered the Vegan burger but it was too uncomfortable for me to eat. We did not complain because no one came to ask until we'd almost finished and we thought we could live with just bread and that I'd cope with the spiciness of the burger. But oh, how I wish the menu had mentioned it were spicy, I'd have avoided it in the first place. and why did staff wait till we've almost finished to check everything was ok. The drinks, London Pride and white wine were however, as usual, excellent.

Booked table for 6 people. Needed to be 7.00pm rather than 8 pm, not a problem. We seemed to play a game of “ you ask the question and I’ll say no” When we got to the table, after some drinks we were served by a different gent, who definitely knew how to smile and deliver good customer service. The food was OK however was very expensive,

Hi Phil H, Thanks for taking the time to leave some feedback, albeit not as positive as I would of hoped. I can only apologise that your experience wasn't at the required that we would usually expect. I'm not sure without further details why you would of been told no and this isn't how our staff should behave. Please rest assured that I will be picking this up with the team that worked on the evening in question and providing them with further training, along with your feedback. Unfortunately in terms of pricing, this is set centrally but I will pass this back in order to try and understand if there is anything that can be done. I do hope that you will give us another opportunity to put this right and illustrate how the business usually operates. If you wish to discuss this further, please do feel free to drop me an email on oneovertheait@fullers.co.uk Regards, Dan General Manager

When two sets of rugby supporters descend on a pub, it quickly fills up. But the service at the bar was fast and unflappable, The same situation upstairs in the restaurant, where the service was attentive without being intrusive (and a special thanks to Mollie). You won't find two courses for two, plus a bottle of red wines for under 75 Pounds for quality like this in many places in London.

Beautiful venue, came here for a staff party. This was my first and time and the venue is amazing. Big thanks to the team for looking after us. The food was greatly received... a personal 'Thank you' to 'B' who looked after us.

I took my friend for lunch as a Christmas present after a long walk along the Thames. We had a gorgeous lunch and our well behaved dogs were welcome too. It is not the first time I have been, including attending on match days. The one thing that stands out is the team seem really happy to be there, genuinely happy to see the customers and happy to work with each other. The atmosphere is always happy and relaxed. The experience is different on match days so if you are planning a visit do bear that in mind as home and away fans are very welcome for great value food and a drink before and after the games. The toilets are super clean too!

As others have said there’s no view. As it was wet we drove but parking is near impossible anywhere near. The dire dated rock music was so loud and inescapable we asked for it to be turned down which eventually the staff did -a little. We wanted food off the paper menu but staff insisted that we use the app even though there were so few customers in that evening. When so much metal ventilation there was nearly no mobile phone signal so we moved table. It’s very clunky and extremely insistent on having lots of your personal details -are you ready for the tsunami of yet more spam ? When we saw all the prices were so exorbitant we downed our drinks and left. I dont like MacDonalds but being so hungry after the long walk to the car it was the relief we needed before going home for some equally poor TV movie. Never coming back here.

Came here on a Saturday evening for drinks and a dessert. Drinks were okay. Initially sat upstairs and then was told they don’t serve food upstairs (not sure why?) so we had to move to somewhere without a view. Food was extremely overpriced and the portion size ridiculous. Ordered the ‘caramelised mango crumble’, which was basically a piece of mango with some kiwi and crumbs sprinkled over it costing £5.50. Couldn’t believe it. Won’t be returning!

We stumbled across One Over the Ait on a sunny stroll over to Kew Gardens last week. We decided to return for supper where we were greeted by Rosa and Rosselo. We found the atmosphere relaxed and vibey- even with our 11 month old son. The food was delicious and reasonable priced, and they even bought some snacks out for our son. A fantastic restaurant, with an incredible view and wonderful staff. Overall a lovely experience!!

It looked like a great find, but it wasn’t. Walking the Thames path we spotted this pub, which was in a great spot, so we decided to stop for a beer. Inside the pub was empty, there were 4 staff members behind the bar, one who was serving the only other customer in the bar at that time. We waited patiently while the three other bar staff did a wonderful job of looking through us, looking around us and generally managing to avoid acknowledgement of any other form of life at the bar. Having met our maximum ignore time we left and went to another pub down the road.

One Over The Ait Brentford
Hi MrGJC, Thanks for leaving your review. The day of your visit Brentford were playing at home and the game had started, all the crowd had gone to the stadium. This is why the pub was empty. Sometimes on match days I have agency bar staff who just pour drinks, while my regular staff man the tills. Once everyone goes to the game we reset the whole pub, clearing, bottling up, and getting the pub ready again for when everybody comes back. This is all done by the regular staff, which is why there was only one person serving behind the bar. Having said that, they should have still acknowledged you and I have since addressed this. I hope this sheds a bit of light on the situation for you and doesn't deter you from giving us another go whenever you're in the area again! Thanks, Jerry

We booked a group of 8 to be social distanced prior to London Irish's first game at our new home. We were greeted warmly by the staff and quickly taken to our table after signing in to test and trace and sanitise hands. Our drinks order was taken and drinks brought to us very quickly and they were willing to wait for all our party to arrive before we ordered our food. When ordered the food came again quickly and was very tasty, the Sunday roasts were enormous, glad I went for the burger so as not feeling full for the game. When we had finished there was no hurry for us to leave and we were asked if we wanted one bill between us all or separated out. We will certainly be back for our next home game. Great staff and good food, thoroughly recommend this pub especially in these trying times, felt very safe.

One Over the Ait is located near the Thames. We sat outside although a bit chilly (no heaters). I ordered at the table from the paper menu and ordered fish & chips (£14.50). On arrival of the food I can could see the fish was overcooked and only ate inside. I didn't wanna be fussy and complain. Tim the Chef clearly can't cook fish to a reasonable standard.

Firstly, our table was cleaned with just a cloth and no antibacterial spray. The lady also just pushed all the food/dirt onto the floor and seats. Very odd. I ordered the chicken Kiev and it arrived looking great. I was told it was the last one etc. The coating was so overdone it was almost rock hard. There was not one bit of juice inside or garlic butter as it was so overdone or had been reheated and it had completely dried out. Terrible lunch.. dirty table and people smoking over us whilst we eat. Great when you have a 7 month old with you. Won’t be returning ever.

We ended up here by accident after another nearby pub had an electrical failure and I’m really glad that we did. I’d heard it was pretty good from mates and we certainly had a warm and friendly welcome. After a delicious starter of calamari, we did end up waiting an age for some of the mains and this review might have turned out very differently. But the server was very apologetic and explained how many covers had arrived at the same time and his pleasantness combines with the quality of the food saved the day. Really nice roast beef with all the trimmings, everything well cooked and seasoned. The best was saved for last - probably the best brownie and salted ice cream I’ve ever had and I don’t say that lightly. I’ll be back!!

After a long lockdown what a joy it was to return to the pub. I must say it is fortunate that my enthusiasm for the pub was at an all time high as my experience of eating dinner here was not good. My dinner of lamb neck and new potatoes was by a wide margin the worst meal I have eaten in the last 6 months - inedible lumps of gristle inexplicably cooked rare as though they were a prime filet accompanied by a meagre ration of potatoes (and it must be said some pleasant capers and samphire). Truly a terrible terrible plate of food. Anyway that did little to dim my general enthusiasm for the evening. The setting is pleasant in a new build sort of way, and Fuller's Frontier is an absolute nectar of the gods. Overall 5/5 but if you come here to dine eat at home first.
