I had breakfast here and the food was really quite good. The service is basic and they pretend they understand you when they clearly don't (as I asked for no meat and she said ok but I got ham and bacon with my eggs). The view is the best in town and the prices are very reasonable.

Same as the hotel unfriendly lazy staff and owner food overpriced but very average. Even the view is obstructed. There are better places in town.

Great views of the Mekong here, good wifi, and a nice place to chill - they don't mind you hanging out here for ages (which is just as well if you're eating, as it will take ages for anything to arrive). The food was nice though and there's a good veggie selection too; it does take a long time to... More

We went as part of a group of 10 people, the prices are more expensive than Thailand but this is normal in Laos. The food was OK when you got it, some people had finished their meal before others had even got theirs, there must have been a 40 minutes wait between the first people being served and the last,... You can get a nice view of the river form there. But do not expect a good service. Everybody hanging on their phones with long face waiting for you to finish so they can clean . Nothing special about the food. Go to Terrasse (great!) or at least to the restaurant on the right side of Riverside, Sabaidee.

Having just come from Thailand where the food is seriously cheap it came as a shock to start paying £5 for a meal, however we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant on the Mekong banks where food is, on average, between £1-2. I went for the traditional rice dish or Larp, although didn't realise I was as it was written differently... More

Rather shocked by the bad reviews here. We had a real good time at the Riverside with of course a nice view over the Mekong, but also with absolutely great curry's. Okay, the service could be better, but it was fast and we don't actually eat service, do we? Oh, and I saw people complain about prices? For 10 euro... More

The restaurant is on a huge terrace overlooking the river which makes for a nice view. However, there are so few tables and they are so spread out that the service is challenging and the place doesn't have much atmosphere. On the other hand if you want a nice private dinner, this is your place. I had the pork soup... More

You are not spoiled for choice in Huay Xai, so this is adequate, though I suspect just as good could be had for less in a Guesthouse. Very average bathroom in 210, better in the next room i had. Simple breakfast included which was fine.
