Totally unexpected to find in the heart of Tiradentes a Thai restaurant with authentic dishes that impress given the distance from this historic city to good old Thailand. It is basically a gem within the culinary mine of Comida Mineira, definitely worth the try. Service...is attentive and barman is well trained!More

This is not a Thai food restaurant, It is a normal restaurant, very expensive based on what they deliver. If you plan to go, please be aware that they take a very long time to prepare your order. Minimum 1h30min after order. There is no...parking place nearby. Have to walk over there. Is there more pleasant places to be visited in Tiradentes.More

Just yesterday I had the misfortune of having dinner in this restaurant! My wife and I ,accompanied by my sister in law and her husband who had previously dined there booked a table earlier on in the day for 8 pm. After being seated and...before ordering the problem started! Our table was located next to a door exiting to a varanda , to be honest the door was practically beside one of the guests and within a space of ten minutes employees opened and closed this at least ten times ,on occasion asking the guest to move and continuosly brushing up against him, not to mention the cold caused by the unusually low temperature,6-7 degrees!! When we complained to the waitress about this she adopted a take it or leave it attitude with a very I couldn't care less tone! This left me with no choice but to ask for the manager, keeping in mind we hadn't ordered yet! He promptly arrived and to be fair did what seemed his best to resolve the problem by changing our table, the logical solution I would think!!! He the offered desert on the house by way of apology, so we decided to stay. We waited 1 hour and 15 mins for our food , which to be fair was good despite having absolutely nothing to do with Thai food, when offered desert two of us chose coffee while the others a desert, which was very poor! When the bill came we charged for the coffees which we chose instead of the desert!! We decided just to leave and not bother questioning it as the evening was starting to spoil so we just looked for somewhere else to try and rescue what was a rare oportunity ,especially when you have kids,to get away with friends ! The total bill was touching 400 reais without starters and supposedly free deserts, a handsome sum of money in Brasil , and I think to be fair we deserved better service and a little more respect from the staff! The food ,well, that's for you to decide, but a special night out is more than the food, wouldn't you agree!!!!More

Well located and nicely Thai decorated and good service. Wood benches not so comfortable to seat even with cushions. Menu is mostly Thai recipes mixed with local food but sometimes too diversified that hard to identify the ingredients, although not bad. Worth to eat there,...suggest bring your own wine.More

Best meal during our one week trip through Minas Gerais. We love Thai food and it’s so hard to find in where we live (Bahia). Great was our surprise finding this place in a place like Tiradentes. Tried to go for lunch but only opened...at 13:00, so made a reservation for dinner (which forced us to travel back again from Sao Jao), glad we took the effort. Really great food with the typical asian flavours. We liked to try it all but our stomachs wouldn’t have been big enough. Therefore asked for half portion of the fish balls (which was no problem at all), red curry was ordered spicy and was rightly so, thai papaya salad: awesome. All fresh and service was great. Definitely like to come back!!More

The first thing, the name! The combination of these two words - "Uai" plus "Thai" - brings immediately (to Brazilians) its meaning: the perfect mix of thai flavors to the traditional local cuisine ("cozinha mineira"). An absolutely fantastic idea! At a cozy decor, with a...young and friendly service, Brazilian Chef Ricardo Martins brings his exquisite cuisine to a cosmopolitan clientele. Not to be missed at any visit to Tiradentes and its historical center! Bon Appétit!More

The food here is inventive, beautifully presented and has unbelievable flavours. Even as a fusion cuisine sceptic I was bowled over by how cleverly the chef combines local ingredients with classic Thai food. The staff are incredibly helpful and the views are amazing. This was...the best food we tasted in two weeks in Brazil, over and above more expensive places in Rio.More

We went with the kids for lunch and we simply loved it. From what we learned afterwards, the restaurant was located at Rua Direita and then moved to the "top" of the historic center, meaning (now) it has a wonderful view of the hills (Serra...de São Jose). It is also very well decorated (and we heard that by night it has a more "romantic" athmosphere). We ordered a soup as entree and shared a Pad Thai and a Costelinha with the kids. Superb! Not to mention that the chef Ricardo Martins was there supervising the kitchen, talking to all guests and very nice with us, in explaining how the costelinha was prepared (confit) and why the restaurant is called UAIThai (but this I will leave for you to ask him directly when you get there).More
