Yes this is a tourist trap. The local guides must get a place to rest and feed upstairs while their tourist wait for the overnight train. But if you stick to ordering hot plates or local dishes you'll be ok. Don't expect decent western dishes, you'll be disappointed.

this restaurant is within a walk to Ga' LAO CAI to take train back to Hanoi . I can't make my choice because it's already arranged to dine in this restaurant before getting on train. taste of food is just average. so bad that drinks are not included with higher price than local shops nearby .

We had dinner here before catching the Chapa express back to Hanoi. The menu was fine, the food was Ok but the service was terrible. I would not criticize the poor waitress who had to look after the entire restaurant - yes, there was one waitress for a large number of tables. She literally ran everywhere. However, service suffered as... More

For the first time ever my daughter didn't eat her pizza. This place seems to have some kind of deal with the Sapa tour companies as they all take their clients to this tourist trap. Guides appear to eat for free and can sleep here while tourists chomp on diabolical food and foot the comparatively high bill. We were taken... More

Most folk looking for restaurants in Lao Cai either just got off the train or are about to get on one. We were the latter, waiting for the 9pm train. Couple of observations: Lao Cai restaurant listings include some places in Sapa, these cannot be walked to from the station. The small number of reviews allows a few places with... More

Had to grab a quick bite before getting in to the train tot Hanoi. Food wasn't great, bearly OK for quick bite; for that heavily overpriced. Service took quite long. Location is nice (100m from Lao Cai train station).

The restaurant is located 2 min. wall from the train station. It is open from 04:30 am to welcome passangers arriving on the night train from Hanoi. Breakfast was good ( eggs, toasts, coffee/tea). We used the same resturant on our return back from Sapa to Hanoi . The retstaurant offer rich menu for dinner.

Convenient place to wait for the train back to Hanoi. Had the tofu in tomato sauce which was nothing more than ok.

This place offered a large menu with a variety of different meals. They also had Frappuccino's which were quite refreshing on a hot day. The restaurant is located on the main street and easy to find due to all the greenery decorating the outside of the building.
