Complete Istrian experance

We had lunch at Morgan restaurant. Location is typical Istrian on the top of mountain surrounded by wineyards with beautiful wiev. Fabulous! We ate typical istrian, domestic food and it was delicious. The restaurant was quite and clean. Restaurant is recomanded by Michelin guide for three years, but something is still missing. In my opinion they should train the waiters to listen better when taking an order, the cook should have more fancy in presenting the food, the owner should bear in mind that white wine should be served cold. But all other things were perfect.

Spectacular view, excellent food, service to be improved

This restaurant is fine dining restaurant in spite of the name "konoba" which would imply more homemade food and atmosphere. It is situated in beautiful scenery on top of the hill and above vineyards so the view from the terace is spectacular! If possible ask to be seated there. The menu is not very big and is based on meat raised on the property. Everything is very tasteful although the portions very not particularly generous. Veal with pumpkin gnocchi wqs very good, but the side dish of grilled vegetables with beefsteak was too small in comparison to meat. I was unpleasantly surprised that generally very kind waiter didn't get me salt in spite of asking twice because there were not enough saltmill! Also we were not informed about wine since it seems that it is special service which you have to pay extra. Chocolate suffle with truffles was the best!

Upscale Istrian masterpiece

Every single time that we dine at Morgon we have always been enchanted by the family, waitstaff and of course the cuisine. My favorite is the foie gras and peaches followed by braised meat (beef cheeks especially) It is a konoba but in truth it is surely a fine dining spot at this point in their progression. Probably not the best place to bring young children unless they have been trained to sit at the dining table of fine cuisine restaurants and behave properly. Presentation and service compares to that of any 5 star restaurant. Prepare yourself for this outstanding culinary experience. A reservation is a must (by the way folks; empty tables doesn't mean that they are not reserved in advance. That's not how restaurants work. Especially during this pandemic, restaurant staff the world over is doing the best that they can) Order some of the wonderful and carefully crafted dishes from the lovely menu and a bottle of fantastic wine; spend a few hours and enjoy this magical place! I know we will once again!

Terrible and extremly rude staff, felt belittled.

Me and my boyfriend arrived and asked for table, they told us that all tables are reserved even though we saw that the whole terrace was empty. After couple minutes of begging (because we came only to eat there) they decided to give us some misarable table in the corner and a half torn napkin. The food itself was okay but we found a hair in one of the dishes and the waiter who was rude and condesending from the beginning told us “It happens sometimes”. We were really upset and we asked for a recipt and he tried to smuggle some couvert on our bill even though we didn’t even get bread. He told us that couvert was napkin, fork and knife we got. Terrible experience, I would not recommend it to anyone.

Good food not so great staff

We were there for a lunch with kids. Although the restaurant was basically empty, they took a second thought to serve us, since we did not reserve a table, and it was their period of day when they prepare themselves for dinners. The food was really good. The staff was professional but there was a feeling we were not welcome.

Very disappointing

Unfortunately our visit at Konobq Morgan was more than disappointing!! We arrived at 5:30 pm August 12. with 2 adults and 2 kids. We ordered starters and maincourses together with a bottle of wine, and other drinks. Our kids have choosen pasta Fuzi with deer ragout and have been served Gnocchi instead of Pasta which they didnt like. Ok we are on vacation and things can go wrong. No Problem. We asked which side dish comes with the veal filet. The waitress said that potatoes and Onions will served. All fine as we asked if the onions will be served on the side. Our kids 9 and 11 years old dont like onions. My mancourse arrived 10 minutes earlier thank the rest of the dishes. Than we found out that the side dish of our kids was mashed onions/potatoes. My wifes maincourse (€38) arrived rare instead of (ordered) medium. The drinks we had to pour ourselves too. We complained twice an asked for the restaurant manager. Out of 4 service and zero customers they where not able to respond to pur complaint besides that the waitress told us that she is working from 8am till 11pm this day. We are not complicated people but when obviously everything goes wrong we expect an apollogies rather than a justification that its too much work. In an empty restaurant where they charge €250 for 4 people its not acceptable that so many things go wrong without an manager showing up.

Dear I apologize for your bad experience yesterday and thank you for this review, for me this is a constructive criticism where I understand that I have to pay more attention to the dining room staff and in any case regarding this incident i will take measures. It is unacceptable that the waitress does not pour you wine if you have ordered a bottle which was not cheap. I work in the kitchen and I can assure you that I have not been told that you wanted pasta or even that you don't like onions, these are small changes in the kitchen that can always be made. As soon as I was told you wanted to talk to me, I went out but you were already in the car ready to leave. I apologize once again and I hope you can give us another chance. Best regards Ana Morgan

Family lunch

Our experience few days ago were terrible, waiter didn’t even say hello and trying to ignore us completely. We were waiting for 15min and they were avoiding us. We left as I never seen such a unprofessional service in their vicinity you can find much better options. They obviously full of them selfs.

One of the most beautiful locations I have ever been

Konoba Morgan would be worth visiting just for its location. On top of a hill with views of olive groves and vineyards and the Adriatic Sea in the distance. And if you are there for the sunset, that's a bonus. But there is also the food. Excellent. Local ingredients, typical Istrian cuisine. The "greeting from the kitchen" itself is a treat: homemade pate with different homemade "relishes". Mmmm. Pasta, meat, dessert, all was really, really memorable. Efficient and friendly staff should also be mentioned. Good price for the quality you get. I advise you share portions so you can try more things from the menu. Well done!

Incredible experience

We had an amazing time in Morgan. Everything was perfectly executed, from the amuse bouche, selection of cold cuts, seasonal ravioli to a truffle chocolate souffle. Hats off to the chef for a perfect braised cheek and our waiter who flawlessly paired every course with a glass of wine. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Nice food, perfect location, kindly service

Went there with my girlfriend and friend, we had Istrian specialities: 2 different kind of homemade pasta with truffles and Asparagus risotto. We didn't eat meat as we are vegetarians. We also took dessert and drink beautifully wine: Kozlović Malvazija. Place is spotlessly perfect, great atmosphere. Service was very kind and helpfull, really professional. Food was perfect and price was reasonable about 20 EUR per capita.

Stunning meal in a stunning setting

If you want to eat beautifully prepared, stylish modern food on a stunning terrace overlooking rolling vineyards, with the sunset shining across the sea in the distance … do the (easy) drive and come here for dinner. We brought two teenagers who demolished exquisite handmade ravioli and T-bone steak with enthusiasm. The adults enjoyed high quality carpaccio, burrata, duck with fennel, and veal cheek with polenta. Everything was excellent, and enhanced by great wine pairings from local vineyards at a thoroughly reasonable price. We will be back on future holidays, for the excellent food and wine, but also the friendly and knowledgeable staff who absolutely made the whole experience great.

A Very Nice Restaurant

Firstly, when you arrive at Morgan you are mesmerised by the panoramic view, amazing. The restaurant decor is simple but classy, not at all pretentious. The waiting staff were extremely friendly. Our particular waiter, Zjelko, was absolutely superb. He happily took our photo. He recommended the wine for us. He couldn’t have been friendlier. The food was superb. We had pate with 3 different kinds of chutney, a selection of cheeses, a selection of cold meats. The next course included pigs cheeks, tagliatelle tarttufi & Angus beefsteak. The food was excellent. It was a very unhurried, relaxed atmosphere. Including a bottle of wine & drinks the bill came to €262. I think it was reasonable for 4 people.

Nice views, good food, good service

Stayed in the hotel and ate here during my stay. The food is good, and gets better when you follow the recommendations of the attentive staff - they do not try to sell the leftovers, but to ensure the best experience for you. Ingredients are local, no convenience food as far as I could tell. Book ahead - the place is a well-known restaurant in the area, where - amongst others - business people take their guests.

Average and expensive

Small portions; degustation size. Micro size of apetizers. Meat portion is also very small; prices are extremely high. No price performance at all. If you want to be fed enough, you have to eat all the bread!😏 Average food quality!
